Abstract: A heat sealable bag may have overlapping layers of a multi-layer film. The inner adjacent layers of the multi-layer film may comprise a sealant layer that allows an open edge of the bag to be heat sealed by temperatures lower than 255 F for a 6-second dwell time, thereby providing safer operation and potentially allowing thinner plastics to be used, with reduced risk of burn-through. The sealant may include a polyolefin plastomer such as an ethylene alpha-olefin resin.

Abstract: A storage container has an internal volume defined by at least one panel. Access to the internal volume is provided through an opening. A zipper is used to close the opening and the zipper is actuated by a slider. A locking mechanism for the slider is provided in the form of a housing into which the slider is received as the slider moves in a closing direction. When the slider is located in the housing, a locking cap, such as a child-proof cap, can be engaged onto the housing to prevent access to the slider.

Abstract: A storage bag includes an upper layer and a lower layer. The lower layer is bonded to the upper layer. A detectable element is coupled to or integrally formed with the upper layer. An internal cavity is formed by the layers. An edge is formed by the upper and lower layers. The edge has an opening to provide access to the internal cavity. A vacuum sealing system and a method of sealing a storage bag are also disclosed.

Abstract: A storage bag for holding objects and materials is disclosed. The storage bag includes a pair of outer sheets and an inner sheet. The outer sheets are coupled by three seams. The storage bag has a cavity between the outer sheets and an opening. The inner sheet is mounted between portions of the outer sheets near the opening. The third sheet extends across the outer sheets between a pair of seams. The inner sheet has three layers that are coupled to each other. A first layer is coupled to one of the outer sheets by another seam and a third layer is adapted to be heat bonded to the other outer sheet. A weak bond area is formed between the third layer and the outer sheet. The weak bond allows the storage bag to be easily opened. A method of manufacturing the storage bag is also disclosed.

Abstract: A plastic storage bag has a storage area that is resealably closed by a zipper. The zipper is provided in a passage way that extends from an opening of the bag to the storage area. The zipper extends between first and second edge seams of the storage bag. Wider edge seams are provided in the passage way, particularly at the interface between the passage way and the zipper. The wider edge seams protect the edges of the bag and the edges of the zipper when opening the zipper.
