  • Patent number: 8770083
Abstract: A quick release illumination flare mounting arrangement particularly adapted for use in an aircraft. Includes a base plate mounted to the aircraft's deck, and an aperture in sealed contact with an upper end of a flare discharge tube coupled to a discharge aperture in the fuselage. A coupling assembly which includes a second aperture is easily coupled to and removed from the base plate by coupling pins. The coupling assembly further includes an upper plate adapted for secure, sealed, easily removable mounting to the lower end of a flare receiving tube.

  • Patent number: 7979571
Abstract: An approach is provided for shaping traffic of a communication system. Resource usage of a network element of the communication system is determined. The usage is compared with thresholds that are established according to loading of the communication system; these thresholds correspond to various transmission states that limit usage of the resources of the communication system (e.g., bandwidth). Further, based on the comparison, the resource usage of the network element is controlled according to a particular transmission state, thereby ensuring fair access. This approach as particular applicability to shared capacity systems, such as a satellite communication system.

  • Patent number: 7219488
Abstract: A mounting apparatus is provided that attaches a string trimmer to a lawn mower. The mounting apparatus comprises components that provide for mechanical absorption of impacts to a head of the string trimmer. In one embodiment, the mounting apparatus comprises a lower mounting shock assembly comprising two vertically positioned springs or other suspension/shock absorbing devices, an upper impact assembly, comprising an angled spring, or other suspension/shock absorbing device, through which a shaft of the string trimmer passes, and components that provide for rotation of the string trimmer head with a drive motor provided with a protective clutch mechanism. Embodiments include providing the mounting apparatus on a lawn mower with a string trimmer device inserted therethrough.

  • Publication number: 20050193699
Abstract: A string trimmer-lawn mower multitask unit comprising an internal combustion engine used to propel the string trimming head by way of a control handle that is mounted on a lawn mower which is propelled with an engine encompassing an electrical system that is manually maneuvered by handlebars or in the event the lawn mower has a steering wheel the trimmer control handle is mounted an a self contained arm joined with a bracket assembly mounting a string trimmer to the lawn mower cutting deck. With an actuating mechanism and a spring assisted impact mechanism with a clutched impact mechanism joined on a self-leveling independent spring-loaded suspension with the ability to ascend or descend the cutting height of the string trimmer in respect with the mower deck.

  • Patent number: 6252123
Abstract: This invention relates to a process for the separation of a metal complex catalyst and any free ligand which may be present, from a homogeneous organic synthesis reaction mixture using sub-nanoporous, chemically stable membranes having discrete pores which allow organic products and by-products to pass through the membrane as permeate while retaining substantially all of the metal complex catalyst and free ligand, if any, as retentate.

  • Patent number: 5856150
Abstract: Processes are disclosed for the selective hydrolysis of saturated esters, e.g., ethyl propionate, over unsaturated esters, e.g., ethyl acrylate, using enzymes, e.g., lipases. The processes are useful, for example, for removing undesired esters from monomer feeds used in latex polymerization and from the latexes after polymerization. The processes can be used, for example, to treat latexes used in hair fixative compositions to remove unpleasant odors.
