  • Patent number: 5528831
Abstract: A bolt knife assembly with locking member having a knife blade assembly pivotally connected to a handle and support body assembly which is secured in either a retracted or extended orientation by means of a lock nut member. An accessory member, such as a screwdriver, is releasably connectable to the handle and support body assembly. The handle and support body assembly is constructed from an ordinary threaded bolt with a support handle member mounted thereon providing comfortable handling characteristics. The knife blade assembly includes a knife blade member with a cutting blade section at one end and a pivot and lock section at the another end allowing an anchor member to pivotally connect the knife blade assembly to the handle and support body assembly.

  • Patent number: 4563813
Abstract: This invention relates to a cam lock knife structure having (1) a main handle assembly; (2) a knife blade assembly pivotally connected to the main handle assembly and moveable from storage/folded condition to an open/usage condition; (3) a cam lock assembly engagable with a portion of the knife blade assembly to hold same rigidly in the usage and non-usage conditions; (4) a convey and actuator assembly operable to be attached to the cam lock assembly for ease of operation and for conveyance purposes; and (5) a sharpener lock assembly which can be utilized with the cam lock assembly to hold the knife blade assembly in various conditions and, additionally, independently removed for blade sharpening activities. The knife blade assembly includes a main support body having a cutting section and cam sections engagable with the cam lock assembly for holding the knife blade assembly in a rigid condition whether in the usage condition or folded non-usage condition.

  • Patent number: 4447951
Abstract: The folding knife structure of this invention is operable to present a blade member which is rigidly held so as to not be movable in any direction except upon great pressure to the folded condition. Our folding knife structure includes a handle assembly; a spring bias assembly connected to the handle assembly; and, a blade assembly pivotally connected to the handle assembly and operably connected to the spring bias assembly. The spring bias assembly includes a spring member having a main body connected to the handle assembly and, integral therewith, a guide portion which is engageable with the blade assembly. The blade assembly includes a blade member having a blade body; an alignment portion integral with the main blade body; and, a cutting edge integral with the main blade body. This invention lies in the contacting relationship of the guide portion of the spring member and the alignment or lock portion of the blade member so as to achieve a line contact therebetween.

  • Patent number: 4326652
Abstract: This invention is a knife sheath structure readily connected to a belt member adapted to receive and convey a knife member therein. The knife sheath structure includes (1) a main knife support assembly to vertically and laterally support the knife member therein; (2) a vertical support assembly secured to the main knife support assembly and releasably connectable to the belt member; (3) a cover assembly secured to the main knife support assembly adapted to cover a portion of the knife member to restrict upward and lateral movement thereof; (4) a sharpener and connector assembly connected to the vertical support assembly. The sharpener and connector assembly includes a connector ring having a sharpener plate member secured thereto. The connector ring is of rectangular shape adapted to receive a portion of the main knife support assembly to connect to the belt member and a portion of the cover assembly to hold the knife member in a conveyance position.
