  • Publication number: 20130132855
Abstract: A system with a medical device, an interface device and a communication controller. A medical device has a medical device communication module. The interface device has an interface device communication module and a user interface operatively coupled to the interface device communication module and configured to communicate with a user of the system. The communication controller has a communication controller module configured to communicate with the medical device communication module and with the interface device communication module and an information server operatively coupled to the communication controller module and configured to drive the user interface of the interface device. The system is configured so that a user of the system may communicate with the medical device using the user interface of the interface device with the user interface of the interface being driven by the information server of the communication module.

  • Patent number: 6270030
Abstract: A tape cartridge and cartridge drive system for controlling the compatibility of first and second tape cartridges having the same form factor in first and second tape drives. The system permits backward compatibility of the first tape cartridge in the second tape drive, while prohibiting the second tape cartridge from being used in the first tape drive. The second tape cartridge includes a tab projecting distally from a recess. The tab is positioned to contact the door actuator surface on the first tape drive so as to prevent insertion of the second tape cartridge into the first tape drive. The tab defines a cross-sectional area perpendicular to the insertion direction smaller than a gap in the door actuator assembly of the second tape drive to permit the second tape cartridge to be inserted into the second tape drive, whereby the second tape cartridge is compatible only with the second tape drive.

  • Patent number: 5860612
Abstract: A guidance system for tape in a tape cartridge includes two corner guides and an optional third guide. The two corner guides may be angled or tapered to produce a bow or slope in the tape, and to steer the tape. If provided, the third guide is readily adjustable during manufacture to an exact predetermined distance from the two corner guides, thereby avoiding problems due to build-up of manufacturing tolerances. A method of constructing such a system provides an interference fit ferrule on a pin or a nail-like pin as the third guide, such that the position of the ferrule or nail head of the pin can be adjusted to the exact position desired during manufacture.
