  • Patent number: 5558137
Abstract: A container bag (10 designed to be inflated before or during filling characterized in that a pressure relief valve (22) is incorporated or incorporatable into the bag body, the valve being connectible to a receiver for exhausted powder or pulverulent matter. The pressure relief valve can be set to give a desired inflation pressure in the FIBC but will permit air to escape above this pressure thereby ensuring that the stitching and seams of the FIBC are not over-stressed to the point of leakage. The valve is connectible to, and preferably is connected to, a receiver for any vented gases and entrained powder. Preferably the receiver is the filling silo (28) so that any expelled powder is returned for refilling.

  • Patent number: 5074833
Abstract: A method of making an intermediate bulk container having zones (12) for the attachment of lifting loops (20) from a fabric (10) having eight such zones with lifting loops attached to the zones comprises attaching the opposite selvedges (14, 16) of the fabric together and then attaching the base (26) to complete the bag. The zones (12) are arranged in four pairs with a zone (12a) of one of the pairs being adjacent to one of the fabric selvedges (14). The side seam (24) of the bag so made is thus spaced from its adjacent corner. This means that all four lifting loops can be attached to the fabric while it is still in the flat state since no lifting loop has to cross the seam in the finished IBC>. This form of construction lends itself to automatic stitching processes and radically increases speed of production.

  • Patent number: 4948265
Abstract: A container bag 10 comprises side walls 12 and a base 14 of flexible material. The side walls are provided with lifting loops 18 and have one or more side seams 16. A circular woven inner lining 22 is provided, preferably attached to the bag at the top thereof. The liner absorbs impulsive forces and enables the bag to meet a drop test standard and additionally helps prevent seepage of materials from the bag.

  • Patent number: 4362199
Abstract: An improved flexible container structure is disclosed in which there is woven in selected areas of a base fabric formed of body yarns threads of reinforcing yarns extending in the intended load-bearing direction. Preferably, the tension of the reinforcing yarns during weaving is greater than the tension of the body yarns in the load-bearing direction.
