  • Patent number: 11172144
Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems and methods for controlling luminance during video production and broadcast. An exemplary system includes a camera to capture video content in a first imaging range, a histogram calculator to evaluate luminance in each pixel in the captured video content, and to generate a luminance histogram for the captured video content, a user interface generator that generates a user interface displaying the video content overlaid with the luminance histogram and generates a user interface displaying a light intensity curve and adjustable parameters for converting the first range into a second range, a luminance controller to convert luminance of the video content into the second imaging range based on the light intensity curve, and a broadcast controller to encode the video content with the second imaging range into broadcast range for transmitting to one or more endpoint devices.

  • Patent number: 6859809
Abstract: A processing system for processing data representing edit decision lists having edit decisions with edit data, representing the type of edit to take place, and frame range data, representing the frames over which the edit is to take place. An input device applies input data to the processing system in response to user manipulations specifying changes in the edit data. The processing device is configured to identify an associated function of the identified edit data, calculate modifications to the range data in response to the identified function and write the modified range data to storage.

  • Patent number: 6625385
Abstract: Frames of image data (FIG. 5) are conformed from source material in response to an edit decision list (FIG. 2). Some of the image data is modified in an on-line environment (FIG. 3) and an output tape is produced including said modified frames. An output edit decision list (FIG. 7) is generated with conventional editing references (SRC, HINT) to the output tape. In addition, reference to the original source material are also included, encoded as comments.

  • Patent number: 6571051
Abstract: An image data editing system is arranged to capture source image clips at full definition in response to edit decision lists. The system conforms the captured material to produce output image clips in response to the edit decisions defined in the list used to capture the source material. Association identifiers are applied to many edit decision lists and the capturing process is configured to capture all source material for all of the edit decision lists having the same association identifier. Each associated edit decision list may be conformed independently and manipulations may be performed with reference to the captured source material. However, when many output reels are required derived from a collection of source material, it is only necessary to capture the source material once.
