The consumer provided the public consumer token to a biller system of a biller for a bill payment by the consumer to the biller. The biller system provided the public consumer token to the biller financial institution. The biller financial institution maintains a biller account of the biller. The acts also can include determining a risk metric representing a risk of using the public consumer token for the bill payment. The acts additionally can include sending the risk metric from the payment-messaging system to the biller financial institution. The biller financial institution sends the risk metric to the biller system to allow the biller to determine whether to assume liability for the bill payment.

    Abstract: A fire extinguishing system for suppressing fires on cook stoves, fryers or other heating or heated devices with fire suppressant dispensed through nozzles is powered by batteries which provide current for both a detection circuit including a pair of heat sensors and control circuitry and current for a gas or electric house current shut-off. The appliance shut-off device is operated by the standard hardwired interconnect cable that provides a signal between the control board and shutoff device or by an optional sonic receiver assembly that is acoustically tuned to detect an audible alarm emitted by a signal from the main control board. Preferably, the heat sensors are diodes, but in alternative embodiments may be thermistors or active temperature sensors. Mounting of heat sensors and nozzles are facilitated by tees and 90 degree elbows.

    Abstract: A process is provided for fabricating a semiconductor structure wherein the structure has to be exposed to certain oxidizing conditions during certain of its processing steps, such as its high temperature annealing in an oxidizing ambient. It includes depositing a "sacrificial" layer, such as silicon, to provide a uniformly oxidizing surface during subsequent annealing operations. This sacrificial layer, which oxidizes uniformly, produces an oxide layer which also etches uniformly. Thus, after the annealing is completed, the surface oxide is removed through etching and the sacrificial layer is then also removed through a different etching step.
