  • Publication number: 20110192539
Abstract: The disclosure depicts a unique chemical solution and a method of using the same. The solution includes a sodium silicate compound, talc, clay, water, perlite and titanium dioxide in properly measured proportions. Typically, the invention will be used to treat building materials so that the fire retardant or flame resistive properties of a finished product (building or structure) will be enhanced.

  • Patent number: 7759286
Abstract: The invention is a system and method for containing a spill of petroleum product. The system includes a combination of ground rubber, beeswax, and ground corn cobs, which is then tossed into an area of a spill, then allowed to remain for a period until a substantial amount of the spilt petrol is adsorbed. Once this period expires, the adsorbed combination can be removed.

  • Patent number: 7686541
Abstract: The disclosure shows an apparatus and a method for containing a spill of petroleum product. The inventive apparatus and method each include the assembly pliable building blocks of a generally rectangular shape that surrounds an internal void. The blocks form a wall by stacking successive horizontal rows of building blocks such that the respective internal voids vertically align, thereby forming adjacent columnar voids within the wall. The columnar voids are then filled with an adsorbent material that will cling to the petroleum product.

  • Publication number: 20070173169
Abstract: The invention includes a block and a cord threaded through a bore formed within the block. The bore bears a crooked configuration such that when the cord is in a slack position, the block is displaceable along the cord. However, when the cord is taut it frictionally engages the block within the bore and restricts displacement of the block along the cord.

  • Patent number: 6547231
Abstract: A newspaper inserting machine for inserting supplements or inserts into signatures or newspaper jackets improves upon conventional inserting machines by modifying the conventional inserting machines existing belt gripping mechanisms for gripping the inserts and for propelling the inserts into the newspaper jackets as the jackets are moved by a conveyor past insert-containing containers. The existing belt gripping mechanisms are modified to be adjustably positionable to accommodate inserts of different thicknesses and are also modified to be adjustably positionable in directions parallel with the conveyor to accommodate inserts of different sizes while reducing the machine set-up time required by operators for different sizes of inserts. The adjustability of the belt gripping mechanisms also increase the capacity of conventional machines for the number of different inserts which can be placed into the newspaper jackets along a conveyor of predetermined length.

  • Patent number: 5575319
Abstract: Log splitting apparatus for use in combination with a conventional vehicle jack includes a base for removably receiving and supporting the jack thereon and a first support connected to and extending upwardly from the base. A second support is connected to and extends outwardly from the first support and is located above the base. A log support is movably connected to and extends outwardly from the first support and is located between the base and the second support, and a wedge is provided in operative relationship with the second support for engaging and splitting a log positioned on the log support and beneath the wedge as the log support and the log are moved upwardly toward the second support by activation of the jack positioned between the base and the log support.
