  • Patent number: 7598856
Abstract: A navigation system for navigating in low visibility environments includes a portable detection unit which uses position and orientation sensors and/or wireless location to track the position of the portable detection unit relative to some reference location, such as a fire truck. The relative position of the portable detection unit, and thus its user, is then output to a visual display for viewing by the user so that the user may see his/her position in a dark or smoky environment. The system may also include portable beacons which may be left at landmarks so that the relative positions of the landmarks may be seen on the visual display.

  • Patent number: 6445332
Abstract: An data interface module is provided for allowing a user to remotely modify a predetermined number of operating parameters of a motor driven by a motor control and for displaying the same. The interface module includes a micro-controller interconnected to a communications network and a visual display structure. The visual display structure has a first screen which displays a scrollable list of the operating parameters and a second screen which displays a data value for a user selected one of the operating parameters. A user may modify the user selected operating parameter when the second screen is displayed.

  • Patent number: 6163129
Abstract: A method for controlling the starting, stopping and operation of an AC motor is provided. Each winding of the AC motor is interconnected to an AC source by a thyristor switch and a bypass contactor for providing voltage and current to the AC motor. The method includes a steps of sequently firing a pair of tyristor switches to bring the AC motor to full operating speed. Once at operating speed, the bypass contactors are closed. Upon detection of a voltage drop across a thyristor switch, the thyristor switch is fired immediately to transfer motor current from the bypass contactor to the thyristor switch in order to maintain voltage and current to the AC motor.

  • Patent number: 6160365
Abstract: An interface module is provided for allowing a user to remotely set the operating parameters of a motor driven by a motor control. The interface module includes a micro-controller having a plurality of input devices interconnected thereto. Each input device provides a control signal to the micro-controller which, in turn, generates an instruction signal in response thereto. A communications link transmits the instruction signal from the micro-controller to the motor control over a network.
