    Abstract: A method and system for stimulating underground formations is disclosed. The method includes injecting pressurized gas and low concentrations of proppant material at a rate and pressure sufficient to fracture the formation and allow for placement of the proppant in the fracture, followed by allowing the fracture to close on proppant to create a high-permeability flow channel without the use of liquid fracturing fluids or liquefied gases.
