    Abstract: Upwardly diverging, transversely opposed barrels at the rear of the vehicle are supported on a transversely swingable discharge assembly. The barrels have blowers at their lower ends and receive metered amounts of particulates from a hopper through a metering device controlled by the speed of the vehicle on which the swingable discharge assembly is mounted. The assembly is so weighted that it remains upright. Split spouts on the ends of the barrels control the distribution and nozzles wet the emerging particulates. A gate selectively blocks metering of particulates to one barrel.
