Patent number: 9439086Abstract: Systems, processes, and structures allow enhanced near-field testing of the uplink and/or downlink performance of MIMO wireless devices (DUT), such as for any of product development, product verification, and/or production testing. Signal channels may preferably be emulated to test the performance of a device under test (DUT) over a range of simulated distances, within a near-field test environment. An enhanced process provides automated testing of a DUT over a wireless network, e.g. such as but not limited to a WLAN. The enhanced MIMO channel emulator may preferably be operated over a high dynamic range.Type: GrantFiled: August 10, 2015Date of Patent: September 6, 2016Assignee: NETGEAR, INC.Inventors: Joseph Amalan Arul Emmanuel, Jonathan M. Hummel, Charles W. Reed, Gin C. Wang

Publication number: 20130006705Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to systems and methods for electronically displaying an indication of customer spending associated with a pre-determined business location. The method includes using a receiver to receive an electronic request. The request authorizes retrieval of customer spend information associated with the location. The customer spend information may be based on customer credit, debit and/or check transactions. The customer spend information includes a plurality of customer spend data points. The method further includes using the receiver to receive an electronic selection of a limitation of the distance from the pre-determined business location. The limitation may limit the retrieval of customer spend information to a radius corresponding to the limitation.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 22, 2011Publication date: January 3, 2013Applicant: Bank of AmericaInventors: Elizabeth S. Votaw, Charles D. Andrews, Charles W. Reed, Aaron R. Leinker

Patent number: 7344760Abstract: A method for making a wear-resistant electrically conductive body having an electrically conductive diamond-like carbon coating, by ion-accelerating copper ions from a copper ion source onto a negatively charged electrically conductive body, and simultaneously ion-accelerating diamond-like carbon ions from a separate carbon ion source onto the negatively charged electrically conductive body. Also a dual ion-beam process for depositing a wear-resistant diamond-like carbon coating on a negatively charged electrically conductive surface by using an ion-beam to stabilize ionized carbon atoms that have been ion-accelerated onto the negatively charged electrically conductive surface.Type: GrantFiled: September 12, 2003Date of Patent: March 18, 2008Assignee: The United States of America as represented by the Secretary of the NavyInventors: Kenneth H. Heffner, Charles W. Reed, David M. File

Patent number: 6733408Abstract: The belt tension/drive for a pinch roller system of the present invention combines means for urging a plurality of pinch rollers toward a capstan roller with means for driving pinch rollers when a pinch roller is not in contact with the capstan roller. The capstan roller is surrounded by and aligned with a plurality of pinch rollers. A resilient belt disposed about the plurality of pinch rollers urges the pinch rollers toward the capstan roller and drives any pinch roller not in contact with the capstan roller, assuring that all pinch rollers maintain the same surface speed as the capstan roller.Type: GrantFiled: April 4, 2002Date of Patent: May 11, 2004Assignee: Martin Yale Industries, Inc.Inventor: Charles W. Reed

Patent number: 4767162Abstract: A hydraulic system for a pavement cutting machine controls the engagement and disengagement of a rotating blade with a pavement surface. A proportional-flow manual-release valve is arranged in series with a pressure-compensated maximum-flow control valve to allow a rapid raising of the blade and an initial relatively rapid lowering of the blade followed by a controllable slower blade descent.Type: GrantFiled: January 23, 1987Date of Patent: August 30, 1988Assignee: Federal-Mogul CorporationInventor: Charles W. Patent number: 4055048Abstract: Condensate purification such as demineralization, filtration or sterilization for use in a power plant of the type having at least one main condenser with a hot well as part of the steam cycle and in which the condenser is connected to receive steam from a turbine generator and the hot well is connected to discharge to a main condensate pump. Purification of the condensate is executed with improved method and apparatus comprising a side stream demineralization system. The improvement includes a baffle mounted within said main condenser defining an upstream portion of the condenser on one side of the baffle and a downstream portion of the condenser on the other side of said baffle. The condenser hot well is located on the downstream side of the baffle. A passageway is defined over the baffle for flowing fluid therethrough to the hot well. The passageway includes a weir cooperatively disposed therewith on the upstream side of the baffle to hold back a pool of fluid from flowing through the passageway.Type: GrantFiled: August 20, 1976Date of Patent: October 25, 1977Inventor: Charles W.
