  • Patent number: 6102195
Abstract: An improved enclosed belt conveyor system for transferring material with a minimum of dust and energy consumption. An alignment device having an external adjustment mechanism to adjust dynamically balanced spools, which are mounted on a shaft is terminated in the alignment devices. The belts for the conveyed material are in an enclosed structure while the bearings and the bearing adjustment mechanisms are external of the enclosed structure, which encloses the spools and the belts thereby limiting the debris or dust to which bearings are subjected. The balanced flared spools have closed and sealed ends, thereby totally eliminating air turbulence, within the structure. Turbulence will accentuate dust movement within the enclosure. This invention permits the alignment of each individual roller while maintaining the cones of the spools and bearings in a dust free environment as possible.

  • Patent number: 6039647
Abstract: A grain sweeper mechanism having an auger supported in cantilevered fashion in front of a drive mechanism having a pair of wheels. A weight stack carried by the drive mechanism counterbalances the weight of the auger such that generally all weight is borne by the front drive wheel of the drive mechanism. The front drive wheel is operatively coupled with the outer end portion of the auger for receiving rotational power therefrom. An opening in a shroud of the auger extends generally the entire length of the auger. The drive mechanism is coupled with the auger shroud by way of an attaching mechanism which includes a slide member, channel member, threaded member and nut which allows vertical adjustment of the auger while hindering lateral movement of the drive mechanism with respect to the auger.

  • Patent number: 5769590
Abstract: A drive mechanism for a radially extending grain sweeper that includes an auger for directing grain into a central opening in the floor portion of a grain storage container, said drive mechanism includes a housing coupled with the grain sweeper, a drive sprocket and tensioning sprocket mounted within the housing, a crawler track which engages the drive and tensioning sprocket. The crawler track includes a chain to which cleats are coupled in spaced fore and aft relation for engaging grain and the floor portion for supporting the grain sweeper. The cleats are adapted to dig into the grain and move grain with a paddling action to generally hinder the grain sweeper from riding up over compacted layers of grain.
