The panel of fabric can have a height and width sufficient to substantially cover at least a region from the mother's upper chest to below the mother's breasts. A neck fastening strap can be attached to the upper edge of the panel for securing the panel to the mother's neck. A back fastening strap can be attached to a side edge of the panel of fabric and configured to optionally attach to the opposite side edge of the panel of fabric.
