  • Patent number: 9393501
Abstract: A construction toy with a power module is disclosed. The construction toy has one power module and one or more slave members linked together to form a loop. The power module has a core assembly with a flexible rod which can be twisted to store potential energy from the kinetic energy when the rod is twisted. Upon releasing, the twisted rod in the core assembly unwinds itself to release the stored potential energy and causes the entire construction toy in motion. An anti-snap mechanism is incorporated to ensure the flexible rod does not snap in the event of over winding.

  • Publication number: 20090117813
Abstract: A flying toy has an airstream generator with a handle. The air stream generator has an air duct with a multi-blade propeller operatively coupled to a motor. The handle has a compartment to accommodate one or two batteries to power the motor. When the motor is turned on, the propeller produces an airstream out of the air duct. On top of the air duct, a cover with a stud is provided. The stud is dimensioned to fit a hole in the bottom section of a bowl-shaped body. The bowl-shaped body has a rim section connected to the bottom section. The rim section has a plurality of fins oriented such that when the airstream is produced by the propeller, the airstream interacts with the fins, causing the bowl-shaped body to spin while the bowl-shaped body is moving away from and hovering above the air duct.

  • Patent number: 7481691
Abstract: A flying toy has a handle and a driving mechanism to spin a propeller assembly for launching, the propeller assembly having blades on the top end and a freely rotatable conical sleeve on the bottom end. The handle comprises a plurality of pinch rollers surrounding the driving mechanism such that when the driving mechanism is activated to spin the blades, the pinch rollers are moved inward to engage with the conical sleeve for holding the propeller assembly while the blades are spun, and the pinch rollers are moved away from the conical sleeve for launching the propeller assembly. The flying toy also has a landing platform affixed to the handle, the platform having a funnel-shaped receptacle to receive the bottom end of the propeller assembly. The receptacle wall has soft fins for hampering the spinning of the propeller assembly when receiving a descending propeller assembly.

  • Patent number: 6612895
Abstract: A gyroscopic toy having a housing and an end post. The housing contains a spinning member, which can be caused to rotate about a first rotation axis of the housing for producing a gyroscopic effect while the end post rests on a surface to support the housing. A gimbals member is movably mounted on the exterior of the housing so that the first gimbals member can rotate about a second axis perpendicular to the first rotation axis. Two crescent-shaped members are movably mounted to the gimbals and one or two figurines are attached to the crescent-shaped members to enhance the visual effect. The toy comes with a support stand, the upper end of which has a concave surface to seat the end post. Alternatively, at least one foot of the figurine has a concave surface to seat the end post when the figurine is used as the support stand.

  • Patent number: 6036572
Abstract: An electrically-powered device incorporated in a toy comprising a motor-driven mechanism and a pair of robotic-limbs each with a resilient sucker to emulate human walking motion on vertical wall or on ceiling, providing the surface is virtually smooth and leveled. The motor and gear assembly is housed in the gearbox while a gear-engaged shaft adjoins a pair of driving wheels, which output the force to a pair of geneva wheels. The geneva wheels that are coupled with the limbs rotate in varied velocity as long as the driving studs of the driving wheel dwells. A lever is disposed in the limb and is actuated by the driven wheel to lift up the sucker that is located at the bottom of the limb, whenever the limb is designated to leave the surface. The pair of driving wheels are properly orientated while one of the geneva wheels is arranged at 180 degree out of phase to its counterpart to ensure either one of the limbs clinched firmly onto the surface.
