  • Publication number: 20040033811
Abstract: The present invention relates to a messaging management system and method for users roaming in a multi-campus enterprise mobile communication environment, wherein the voice messaging is transported only on demand so as to reduce the bandwidth requirement for the digital data network to lower the enterprise's operation cost, and a Voice Messaging System Call-Back (VMS Call-Back) is provided to render the present invention as a user friendly system so as to prevent the users from the problem of uncertain waiting time when the users listen to the voice messages which are transported among different campuses. The system and method of the present invention not only significantly lower the unnecessary transport of the voice messaging but also can operate under the condition of insufficient digital data network bandwidth, which can reduce the cost for network bandwidth and loosen up the operation requirements for the voice messaging system.

  • Publication number: 20020004394
Abstract: A method for controlling the overflow of roaming users in a public or private mobile communication system. When the number of roaming users is greater than the number of the roaming numbers in a specific region, a newly arriving roaming user is assigned the roaming number of an inactive roaming user already registered in the network, who becomes then an overflow roaming user. Should an overflow roaming user require the use of the mobile communication functions, for example to make or receive a call, the overflow roaming user is in turn assigned the roaming number of another inactive user, who then becomes an overflow user. By this method, a number of roaming numbers can be shuffled between a larger number of roaming users and roaming users arriving into a network with an overflow of roaming users are still able to access the mobile communication functions.

  • Patent number: 6078811
Abstract: A mobile communication system is disclosed including one or more home location registers, one or more visitor location registers and one or more mobile terminal equipments. Each mobile terminal equipment is served by a single home location register. Each registration area or geographical area of mobile communication service is covered or served by a visitor location register. "Overflow" mobile terminals, i.e., more mobile terminals than user records that can be maintained at the visitor location registers, are permitted to register at the visitor location registers. To that end, each home location register maintains an indication, e.g., a bit, for each mobile terminal it manages indicating whether or not the mobile terminal is an overflow mobile termninal. When a mobile terminal is registered at the visitor location register and no user records are available, the visitor location record nevertheless registers the mobile terminal.
