Abstract: An assembly of a printed circuit board mounted in a housing of a slim portable computer is described. The printed circuit board mounting assembly has a printed circuit board with penetration holes. A boss with a hole having a supporter formed around the circumference of the boss is installed in a housing of the portable computer and inserted into the penetration hole. A cap covering a top surface of the boss protrudes towards the upper side of the printed circuit board through the penetration hole and is in contact with the upper side, and a coupling member fastens to the boss through the cap to secure the printed circuit board to the housing.

Abstract: A computer system is provided having an internal video cassette recorder incorporated therein in order to provide an effective means of recording/playing a moving picture produced in the computer system onto or from a video cassette usable for camcorders. The computer system include a video cassette recorder having a dimension of a conventional drive to be mounted on the computer case with front panel access, and a VCR control circuit for driving a cassette deck mechanism, as well as reproducing video signals recorded in a video cassette or recording the video signals fed from the computer onto the video cassette; and an interface board installed to connect the cassette recorder VCR with the system bus of the computer and to supply a command signal fed from the computer with the VCR control circuit and to transfer a status signal generated in the VCR circuit to the computer for controlling operation of the VCR.

Abstract: An anti-shock and water-resistant housing for enclosing the internal structure of a portable electronic apparatus comprising a hard housing body molded of plastic material whose mechanical strength is sturdy when shaped and finished, and resilient layer on said hard housing body in conformity with the shape of the outer surface of the housing body. The resilient layer is molded of synthetic resin which shows resilient characteristic like rubber when shaped and finished.

Abstract: A locking and detent mechanism for a notebook computer and a docking station, that allows the user to securely engage, disengage, and eject the notebook computer from the docking station by operating a single control feature, the handle bar. The present invention also allows the user to accomplish the above tasks with little effort, little dexterity, with a high degree of stability, and without requiring that the device be plugged in. The device consists of clusters of parts installed within the docking station, including the handle mechanism, the push-slide mechanism, the lever mechanism, the locking mechanism, and the ejecting mechanism, where the handle mechanism is at an opposite end of the device from the locking mechanism. The mechanical engagement/disengagement of the notebook computer from the docking station is accomplished simultaneous to the electrical engagement/disengagement, simplifying the procedure for the user.

Abstract: An auxiliary battery storage pack is inserted in the main battery storage pack for a portable computer in place of the specially designed battery so that the user can install ordinary batteries therein. The auxiliary pack adapts the internal size of the main battery storage pack so that it can receive batteries of various size, and connects the contact springs of the computer, through the main battery pack, with corresponding electrodes of the ordinary batteries.
