  • Patent number: 8782187
Abstract: A method for monitoring communication in a wind farm network. A server is attached to one or more network nodes in a wind farm network. The server determines whether it is capable of communicating with each of the network nodes and reports the results as a network state. A graphical representation of the network state may be displayed to a user.

Date of Patent: July 15, 2014
    Assignee: General Electric Company
Inventors: Vivek Kumar, Hemanth A Kumar, Chery Jose
  • Publication number: 20120080881
Abstract: A method for use in operating one or more wind turbines is provided. An exception condition and, optionally, one or more parameters are received from a wind turbine controller. A correction is determined based at least in part on the exception condition and/or the parameters. The correction is applied, facilitating resolution of the exception condition. The method may be practiced for multiple wind turbine controllers, such as the wind turbine controllers within a site or the wind turbine controllers within multiple sites.

  • Publication number: 20110163606
Abstract: A power system includes a plurality of power generation units configured to generate power from a renewable energy resource and at least one controller configured to be coupled to at least one power generation unit of the plurality of power generation units. The power system also includes a server that is configured to be communicatively coupled to the at least one controller. The server is configured to receive operational data from the at least one controller, transmit the operational data to a user, and control an operation of the plurality of power generation units.

  • Patent number: 7909574
Abstract: A monitoring system for at least one wind turbine includes at least one sensor disposed at the at least one wind turbine to detect wind friction at the at least one wind turbine. At least one controller is connected to the at least one wind turbine, and a monitor server is connected to the controller to change an operational status of the at least one wind turbine based on wind friction data received from the at least one sensor. A method of operation of at least one wind turbine includes continuously measuring data relative to wind friction at the at least one wind turbine via at least one sensor located thereat. The data is continuously compared to a predetermined wind friction threshold. A trend in the comparisons is evaluated, and the operational status of the wind turbine is changed via a monitor server based on a result of the comparison.
