  • Patent number: 5799928
Abstract: A ball valve for controlling fluid flow comprises a housing with a chamber therein and a fluid flow passage therethrough having an inlet and outlet portion to and from the chamber adjacent the lower end of the housing, and generally annular recesses extending about the inlet and outlet ends of its inlet and outlet portions. An opening in the upper end of the housing communicates with the chamber and is sealed by a bonnet which is removably fastened to the housing and has a passage seating a stem which will rotate. A valve member is rotatably seated in the chamber. Body seats are removably seated in the annular recesses of the chamber about the inlet and outlet portions of the flow passage. Valve seats are removably seated in the body seats and have concave surfaces which seat the ball member and seal about the flow passage therethrough. The bonnet has a shoulder about the passage and the stem has a collar thereabout which bears upon a sealing member disposed therebetween.

  • Patent number: 5531244
Abstract: A ball valve for controlling fluid flow comprises a housing with a chamber therein and a fluid flow passage therethrough having an inlet and outlet portion to and from the chamber adjacent the lower end of the housing. An opening in the upper end of the housing communicates with the chamber and is sealed by a bonnet which is removably fastened to the housing and has a passage therethrough. A ball member is rotatably seated in the chamber and has a spheroidal lower portion with an anticlinal shaped fluid flow passage therethrough which intersects its axis of rotation. Valve seats are removably seated in the chamber about the inlet and outlet portions of the flow passage and have concave surfaces which seat the ball member and seal about the flow passage therethrough. The opening in the housing is cooperatively dimensioned with respect to the ball member and the valve seats to permit their removal therethrough.

  • Patent number: 4597560
Abstract: A plug valve assembly employs a stem having a threaded end, and a shiftable locking key to alternatively interengage the plug with either the stem or the bonnet. When the plug is locked to the bonnet by the key, the threaded part of the shaft will initially lift it from its seat; shifting the key will permit the plug to be rotated by the shaft to open the valve, and the interengagement established by the key will enable return of the plug to orient it for closure.

  • Patent number: 4351512
Abstract: A clamp yoke valve has a yoke member engaged with the valve body about its bonnet opening, a bonnet sealing the bonnet opening and including a packing cartridge chamber opening outwardly of the valve body and disposed about the valve stem and a packing gland which is movable axially about the valve stem against the packing in the bonnet member. The packing gland has a multiplicity of teeth about its circumference which are disengageably intermeshed with a multiplicity of teeth in the bore of a gland wrench disposed thereabout. The gland wrench includes a pair of arms extending outwardly of the yoke member to permit rotation thereof and thereby of the packing gland to effect compression of the packing material about the valve stem.
