  • Patent number: 4951839
Abstract: An improved economically disposable dispensing unit is provided for dispensing various measured amounts of a liquid or other freely flowing substance from a container. The position of a movable sleeve within a cup-shaped housing determines the measured amount which will be trapped within a dispensing chamber defined by the housing. The sleeve may be adapted for sliding movement to change positions, or, as an alternative, the sleeve can have a foldable, accordion-like structure which allows adjustment of the sleeve position. The invention can be configured as a disposable, one-piece dispensing unit, wherein one of a plurality of one-piece units, each having a different sized sleeve integrally formed therein, is chosen to select a particular measured amount. The dispensing unit is attached to a container by a flexible spring loop or a plurality of gripping fingers.

  • Patent number: 4830226
Abstract: Apparatus for dispensing a measured amount of liquid from a container is adjustable for allowing different measured amounts of liquid to be dispensed from the same container. The apparatus is adaptable for use in the context of two-compartment, squeeze-type containers and two-compartment, inversion-type containers. The latter is a new type of container that allows a measured amount of liquid to be transferred from a storage compartment to a dispensing compartment without the need for an air vent to the outside of the container. The apparatus is designed so that additional liquid from the storage compartment is prevented from entering the dispensing compartment during dispensing of a measured amount of liquid from the container.

  • Patent number: 4364492
Abstract: An easy-dispensing safety cap for selectively providing difficulty or ease in dispensing liquid from a flexible wall container is disclosed. The easy-dispensing safety cap comprises two nested cylindrical configurations: an inner cap and an outer cap. The inner cap has an outer annular wall and an inner annular wall spaced from the outer annular wall and joined to the outer annular wall by a bottom. A planar surface extends across and joins the inner annular wall defining a downwardly opening cavity. The downwardly opening cavity can be fitted over a neck of a flexible wall container. A conduit extends through the planar surface for permitting liquid flow between the downwardly opening cavity and a measuring chamber defined by the outer annular wall. A disk having an opening is fitted within the conduit. A lip having a notch thereon extends around and projects outwardly from the annular wall. The inner cap is nested within the outer cap. The outer cap comprises a cylindrical figure having a sidewall.
