  • Publication number: 20240069561
Abstract: A robotic garden tool includes at least one sensor configured to generate signals associated with an object within an operating area. A first electronic processor of the robotic garden tool receives, from the at least one sensor, an obstacle signal associated with an obstacle located within the operating area. The first electronic processor determines a first location of the robotic garden tool at a time corresponding to when the first electronic processor received the obstacle signal. The first electronic processor determines a second location of the obstacle based on the obstacle signal and the first location of the garden tool. The first electronic processor generates mapping information of the operating area that includes a virtual boundary based on the second location of the obstacle. The first electronic processor controls the robotic garden tool in the operating area to remain outside of the virtual boundary based on the mapping information.

  • Patent number: 9119376
Abstract: A system for locating a lost pet includes: a tag configured to be worn on the pet; a handheld device configured to be connected with the tag wirelessly; a remote server configured to store information that corresponds to the pet wearing the tag; and an application installed on the handheld device and configured to provide a user interface and establish a connection with the remote server. The tag includes wireless communication means and a unique identification code for distinguishing the tag among a plurality of tags, and is configured to broadcast the unique identification code wirelessly. The handheld device is configured to establish a connection with the tag within a predetermined range, receive the broadcasted unique identification code from the tag, and trigger a predetermined routine if the connection with the tag is terminated. A method for locating a lost pet is also provided.

  • Publication number: 20020114331
Abstract: In a large-scale video-on-demand (VOD) system, the scalability and the provision of truly interactive functions are two difficult problems which have not been resolved satisfactorily. It is easy to provide fully interactive functions using unicast streams but these systems are limited in their scalability which affect the cost of service provisioning. Batching systems based on multicast streaming, on the other hand, can increase the scalability but it is difficult to provide interactive functions on these systems. This invention provides a media delivery system having a novel architecture aiming at serving millions of users in a metropolitan area. It features hybrid multicast-unicast streaming to achieve both scalability and full interactivity through the provision of distributed interactive servers, which cached the multicast media streams generated by the media servers. The interactive servers may also provide fault tolerant routing and error recovery.
