  • Publication number: 20090142583
Abstract: A composition of an anti-glare coating has a resin, multiple particles and a dispersant. The resin is selected from the group consisting of thermosetting resin and light-curing resin. The particles have a dimension that is from about 30 nanometers (nm) to about 10 micrometers (?m). Because the dispersant stabilizes and keeps a separation distance between each two particles, the particles cannot aggregate in or precipitate out of the anti-glare coating. Thus, the anti-glare coating can be coated easily on the substrate and a surface of the anti-glare film is uniform to provide an improved anti-glare effect. Moreover, the dispersant allows adjustment of haze, gloss and distinctness of image of a substrate coated with the anti-glare coating.

  • Publication number: 20080310009
Abstract: The present invention provides a device for trapping or stretching a microscopic substance comprising (a) a light source for irradiating laser beam; (b) an acousto-optic modulator (AOM) for regulating the direction of said laser beam irradiating from said light source; (c) a beam-expander for expanding and collimating the light beam emitting from said AOM; (d) an object lens for focusing the laser beam passing through said beam-expander; and (e) an incoherent light source for imaging said microscopic substance. The present invention further provides a method for trapping or stretching a microscopic substance comprising (a) providing a focused laser beam to form a focal spot and (b) scanning a plurality of points on said microscopic substance by said focal spot by way of the AOM.

  • Publication number: 20080150632
Abstract: Circuitry to remove switches from signal paths in integrated circuit programmable gain attenuators. Programmable gain attenuators and programmable gain amplifiers commonly switch between signal levels using semi-conductor switches. Such switches may introduce non-linearities in the signal. By isolating the switches from the signal path linearity of the PGA can be improved.

  • Publication number: 20080062025
Abstract: Binary indications are converted to an analog representation with significant reduction in ringing at the transitions between successive binary indications and in the period during each binary indication. The binary indications are disposed in a row-and-column matrix to provide a thermometer code. Each stage of the converter includes a decoder and latch arranged so the decoder inputs settle before the latch is set by the clock pulses. The stages are implemented in complementary CMOS. Complementary transistors are biased so one transistor of the pair is driven to the rail while the other transistor of the pair floats. A dummy CMOS transistor is used to balance the number of transistors in the decoder paths.

  • Publication number: 20070173470
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for intracellular delivery of substances, comprising the steps of suspending the substance in aqueous solution and providing sufficient speed to enable the suspended substance to penetrate the cell surface and become incorporated into the cell. This method does not require the accompaniment or aid of any particle, and both the substance and the cell retain their biological activity after the entry of substance into the cell.

  • Publication number: 20070008528
Abstract: The present invention provides a method and device for simultaneous optical trapping, stretching, and measurement of morphological deformation of a micro-particle in real-time. Using the setup of the present invention, the deformability of a living cell can be obtained in real-time by measuring the variation in coupling efficiency with optical power of light coupled from one single-mode fiber to the other through the lensing effect of the trapped-and-stretched micro-particle.

  • Patent number: 7151413
Abstract: A low noise charge pump for use in a PLL-based frequency synthesizer. The charge pump includes a timing controller and a plurality of charge-pump circuits. The timing controller receives a reference signal to generate a plurality of enable signals having non-overlapping phases, where the frequency of each enable signal is equal to that of the reference signal divided by the number of the enable signals. The charge-pump circuits are coupled in parallel and operate in a time-interleaved manner according to the enable signals. In response to a first and second control signal, the charge-pump circuits are able to generate respective output currents which are multiplexed together to form a charge-pump current.

  • Publication number: 20060183434
Abstract: A transceiver front-end provides an interface between a transmission medium and transmitter, and between a transmission medium and receiver. The transceiver front-end includes a hybrid circuit, a high-pass filter, and a gain stage, that permits the reduction or the complete elimination of buffer amplifiers. Buffer amplifiers can be eliminated because the hybrid circuit and/or the high-pass filter are adapted so that they can be directly connected to each other, without a loss in circuit performance. Furthermore, the high-pass filter and/or the gain stage are also adapted so they can be directly connected. As such, the transceiver front-end can be constructed using all passive components, reducing or eliminating excess heat generation.
