  • Patent number: 4857482
Abstract: A support is formed and comprises a base, a resin layer which is formed on the base and on recesses which are formed on a surface of the base, and a conductive layer which is formed on a portion of a surface of the resin layer, other than where the recesses are formed. The surface of the recesses is electrically charged by way of a corona discharge to create static electricity in the recesses. Metal balls to be formed into bump electrodes are held in the recesses by way of the static electricity. Then, each of the metal balls is bonded to a corresponding electrode terminal of an electronic component by hot press unit while the electronic component is opposed to the support.

  • Patent number: 4689516
Abstract: A position adjustment device employs a holder on which a semiconductor wafer is attached. When placed on a surface plate, the wafer holder is turned upside-down, so that unlocked leg rods and the pattern transfer surface of the wafer are in direct contact with a reference surface of the plate. Piezoelectric elements are embedded in the holder as locking mechanism for the movable leg rods. In response to a variable DC voltage supplied by a voltage generating circuit, the piezoelectric elements deform to lock the rods with high accuracy.

  • Patent number: 4689514
Abstract: In a displacement generating device, a voltage signal generator produces a triangular-wave drive voltage signal so as to drive a piezoelectric element in a desired vibration mode. The voltage signal generator is connected to the piezoelectric element through a differentiator and a constant current supply. The drive voltage signal is differentiated by the differentiator, and is then supplied as a rectangular-wave voltage signal to the constant current supply. Since constant currents having two levels are alternately supplied to the piezoelectric element, an amount of charge accumulated in the piezoelectric element can be controlled linearly during the current supply time. As a result, since displacement of the piezoelectric element is linearly controlled in proportion to the amount of charge, it coincides with the triangular waveform of the drive voltage signal. A vibration mode free from hysteresis can be obtained.

  • Patent number: 4634884
Abstract: According to an image pickup device, a swing-driver unit is provided for vibrating an image sensor unit, thereby causing the image sensor unit to perform an image pickup operation in such a manner as to periodically shift to different sampling positions at different time points in one frame period. The swing-driver comprises a pair of plate-like bimorph piezoelectric elements for stably supporting the image sensor unit. The image sensor unit and the piezoelectric elements are sealed in a ceramic frame body in a compact manner. The electrical connection between the image sensor unit and lead wires formed on the frame is performed by a flexible film connector. The electrical connection between the piezoelectric elements and the lead wires is performed by wiring patterns preformed on the frame.

  • Patent number: 4608506
Abstract: A displacement generation device includes: a bimorph piezoelectric vibrator for receiving an externally applied drive voltage and for generating a displacement in response to the drive voltage; and a temperature-compensation capacitor element electrically connected in series with the piezoelectric vibrator. The capacitor element has a capacitance with a temperature coefficient with the same absolute value but opposite sign to that of the capacitance of the piezoelectric vibrator. When the capacitance of the piezoelectric vibrator changes in accordance with a change in the ambient temperature, the capacitor element properly changes the drive voltage supplied to the piezoelectric vibrator, thereby compensating for the displacement of the piezoelectric vibrator caused by the change in ambient temperature.

  • Patent number: 4510412
Abstract: A piezoelectric displacing device includes a plurality of longitudinal effect-type piezoelectric displacing members arranged juxtaposed to each other such that displacement axes thereof are substantially parallel to each other, each of said piezoelectric displacing member converting a voltage applied thereto to a mechanical displacement. Connectors are provided which mechanically connect the piezoelectric displacing members in series with each other and derive a sum of amounts of displacement of the piezoelectric displacing members along the displacement axes thereof to give an amount of displacement of the device.
