  • Patent number: 7828110
Abstract: A steering device for steering front wheels of a four-wheeled vehicle is disclosed, comprising a steering wheel, a steering column, a lower column, and a steering gear box. The lower column is coupled via universal joints to the steering column and the steering gear box. The steering gear box includes a housing in which a rack and a screw rod are accommodated. The rack has an end coupled via a spherical joint to a tie rod, which is jointed to the front wheel. The spherical joint includes an anti-loosening washer. The housing has an inside surface forming a step over which a sleeve is fit for being engageable with the anti-loosening washer of the spherical joint to form a constraint to an inward travel of the spherical joint of the tie rod into the housing so as to set a constraint to steering angle of the front wheel.

  • Publication number: 20080108441
Abstract: A torque release mechanism for all terrain vehicles which includes a driving disc fixedly mounted on a rear axle of the all terrain vehicle and having one side provided with a circular flange and a tubular portion, a friction plate put over the circular flange, a sprocket put over the flange, a fixing plate put over the flange, a resilient member put over the tubular portion and in contact, and a fastening member fixedly engaged with the tubular portion to force the resilient member against the fixing plate, whereby when the sprocket is subject to a heavy weight or a large torque which exceeds the frictional force produced by the friction plate, the sprocket will be rotated independently and will not drive the driving disc via the friction plate thereby reducing loading to the chain and the sprocket and therefore protecting the chain and the sprocket from being damaged.

  • Publication number: 20070021249
Abstract: A cushioning mechanism for a sprocket of an all terrain vehicle which includes: a sprocket and a fixed seat, wherein the sprocket has a first side and a second side, the first side is provided with a plurality of tubular members in each of which is fitted a bushing, and the fixed seat is mounted on the second side of the sprocket by fasteners extending through the fixed seat and the bushing to engage with nuts, whereby when the all terrain vehicle travels on rough terrain, the bushing will effectively absorb impact to the sprocket thereby preventing the sprocket from either pulling a chain to make it longer or even breaking the chain.

  • Publication number: 20060172807
Abstract: A torque release mechanism for an all terrain vehicle which includes a driving disc fixedly mounted on a rear axle of the all terrain vehicle, the driving disc having one side provided with a plurality of first cavities; a sprocket mounted on the rear axle and adjacent to the driving disc, the sprocket having one side provided with a plurality of second cavities; a plurality of balls fitted between the first and second cavities; a resilient member mounted on the rear axle and adjacent to the driving toothed disc; and a locking member fixedly mounted on the rear axle and adjacent to the resilient member; whereby when the sprocket is forced to move axially away from the driving disc, the resilient member will be compressed thereby providing a space for the sprocket to move out of engagement with the driving disc.
