Abstract: A method of selecting a factor for estimating characteristics of viewers who view a same content is disclosed. This method includes: storing a multi-layered hierarchal list of attribute words expressing viewer attributes, each of which is a candidate of the factor; extracting the attribute words from the same content; generating a first vector indicative of frequencies with which the attribute words occur in the same content; for a successively-selected one of the attribute words, successively generating a second vector indicative of frequencies with which the attribute words occur in ones of sets of learned-text information which contain the successively-selected attribute word; calculating a similarity score between the vectors on a per-attribute-word basis; and selecting one of the attribute words as the factor, which is associated with subordinate attribute words on a lower layer, based on a dispersion level of the similarity scores calculated for the subordinate attribute words.

Abstract: To provide a contents creating device and a contents creating method capable of distributing contents having an article arrangement with high relativity to a user as distribution destination. A contents creating device 100 to create contents to be distributed within a predetermined group, including a material evaluation unit 130 configured to evaluate relativity of material data of contents to a user as contents distribution destination, and a contents editing unit 140 configured to determine an article arrangement within contents according to an evaluation, wherein contents based on the article arrangement are created. Due to this, it is possible to distribute contents having an article arrangement with high relativity to a user of the distribution destination and it is possible for the user as distribution destination to browse an article in which the user is highly interested.

Abstract: A disk apparatus has a disk medium with sector areas that have a servo area and a data area along the same cylinder. The servo areas also have a sector mark indicative of the servo area, a code indicative of a cylinder address, and a predetermined servo pattern to detect a head position, all magnetically recorded in the servo area. A disk control section uses a head portion to detect the head position on the basis of a read signal of the servo pattern and positions the head portion at an arbitrary cylinder to perform reading and writing operations. The disk apparatus also has a time measuring counter for starting to measure an elapsed time each time a predetermined position in the servo area is detected, and a time setting register for storing a time from a detection time point of the predetermined position in the servo area to the generation of the sector pulse.
