  • Patent number: 8268608
Abstract: The present invention provides a method of treating biomass that reduces water-polluting substances, suppresses the production of malodorous gases and greenhouse gases, decreases the nitrogen content in the compost or livestock bedding thus prepared, and furthermore, easily treats nitrogen-containing biomass in a short time at high temperature. The present invention also provides compost and livestock bedding produced by the method and a biomass treating agent. The method of treating biomass includes blending, with nitrogen-containing biomass, a Geobacillus microorganism having denitrification capability and a fermentation promoter that promotes the fermentation of the nitrogen-containing biomass by the Geobacillus microorganism.

  • Patent number: 5621324
Abstract: A magnet field generating apparatus for MRI, comprising:a plurality of permanent magnet assemblies disposed continuously around the angular inner circumference of a hexagonal tubular yoke to provide a uniform magnetic field at the center portion of the hollow space inside said permanent magnet assemblies; the permanent magnet assemblies forming a main magnetic field by a pair of oppositely disposed permanent magnet assemblies which are trapezoidal or square in cross-section; other pairs of permanent magnet assemblies having a triangular or square cross-section; each of the pairs of oppositely disposed permanent magnet assemblies has a side surface in contact with a part of the inner peripheral surface of the yoke and forms a plurality of permanent magnet blocks which are magnetized perpendicularly to the side surface in contact with the yoke so that the permanent magnet assemblies are magnetized perpendicularly to the side surface thereof in contact with the yoke; magnetic pole pieces disposed on each surface

  • Patent number: 5438264
Abstract: A magnetic field generating apparatus has a hollow permanent magnet formed of a plurality of permanent magnet elements arranged to have a polygonal section. Magnetization directions of the end portions of the hollow permanent magnet in its longitudinal direction are made different from those of the central portion thereof so that the magnetic field generated in a predetermined region in the hollow space of the permanent magnet is increased as compared with a case where the magnetizations of the hollow permanent magnet are all directed in the same direction.

  • Patent number: 5184073
Abstract: A method for correcting phase errors in a nuclear magnetic resonance signal is disclosed, by which central frequencies of NMR signals are measured directly before and directly after or in addition in a course of a normal measurement for obtaining an NMR signal for imaging and an amount of phase error is obtained for each of the NMR signals for imaging by using a difference between the central frequencies and a measurement time for each of the NMR signals for imaging.
