  • Patent number: 5198026
Abstract: Zinc powder, which contains a coloring element, e.g., Ti, Mn, or V, is heated to a temperature of from 350.degree. to 700.degree. C. so as to oxidize the surface of the powder and hence to develop such colors as brown, navy blue, blue, greenish-brown, green, and coffee brown. The colored zinc powder is sprayed onto a steel, aluminum, or ceramic article to produce a colored article. The colored zinc powder is also used as a pigment.

  • Patent number: 5160552
Abstract: This invention permits, in a colored galvanized coating using Ti-Zn, Mn-Zn, Ti-Mn-Zn, (Ti, Mn)-(Cu, Ni, Cr)-Zn, etc., to clearly and stably develop yellow, purple, green, blue or other color by controlling the composition of a galvanizing bath and oxidizing conditions. Further, a gold, dark red, olive gray and iridescence color which have not yet obtained can be developed. The color development effected by this invention is clearer than conventional. Instead of galvanizing, the spraying process may be adopted. The surface painting on the colored zinc coating is effective.

  • Patent number: 4874436
Abstract: A method is provided for producing high purity electrolytic copper useful, for example, to make a copper wire for use in sound or image reproducing systems, such as audio, video and television systems, etc. The copper wire consists of high purity copper in which silver and sulfur contents are both not more than 0.5 ppm and preferably has a crystal grain size not less than 0.02 mm and is unidirectionally solidified or is a single crystal. Such a copper wire is manufactured by continuously casting electrodeposited copper which has been obtained by refining by re-electrolysis of electrolytic copper, using a specially arranged casting apparatus having a mold projecting to an electrolytic bath.

  • Patent number: 4816748
Abstract: An electronic hygrometer and an electronic thermohygrometer both comprising oscillation means and digital operation processing means. The oscillation means of the hygrometer includes a square-wave pulse signal generator, a humidity sensor connected to the generator and which exhibits characteristics variable with the humidity change of the atmosphere, and a passive element connected to the generator and which forms a time constant circuit with the characteristics of the humidity sensor, the passive element being of a type different from the humidity sensor. The oscillation means produces square-wave pulse signals corresponding to changes in the characteristics of the sensor. The digital operation processing means of the hygrometer counts the frequency of the square-wave pulse signals output from the oscillation means and determines the humidity of the atmosphere on the basis of the counted value.

  • Patent number: 4656455
Abstract: A process for fabricating a humidity-sensing element comprises forming an electrode layer on at least one side of a ceramic substrate, applying to the electrode layer a humidity-sensitive paste containing a zirconia, zirconia-yttria, or yttria ceramic as a humidity-sensitive material, drying the coat, and then firing it at a temperature of 750.degree. to 870.degree. C. to form a humidity-sensing part.
