    Abstract: A tray (1) having blocking portion for an optical disc driver can be received in a housing (2). The tray includes a main body (11) and a blocking portion (12). The main body includes a rear end (114) received in the optical disc driver and a front end (113). The front end can move out of the optical disc driver. A recess (115) is defined in the main body, for accommodating an optical disc therein. The blocking portion has a protrusion (123), a free end (121), and a connecting end (122). The tray is prevented from sliding completely out of the optical disc driver by the blocking portion. When the tray is manually pulled, the blocking portion is bent inwardly, and the tray is completely detachable from the optical disc driver. The blocking portion helps prevent the tray from being damaged or broken.

    Abstract: A card edge connector for connecting a daughter board to a mother board comprises an insulative housing, a number of contacts received in the housing, first rail guide disposed in the housing and extending beyond a top surface thereof, and second rail guide formed on opposite ends of the housing. The first rail guide includes at least one pair of retention posts. The two retention posts of the at least one pair are symmetrically disposed in the housing. The second rail guide includes two opposite retention members 42. Both the first and second rail guides are removable from the housing and adjustable in size and material to accommodate different daughter boards. A daughter board inserted into the housing is properly retained by the first and second rail guide in lateral and distal directions thereby preventing deformation of a middle portion of the daughter board.

    Abstract: A card edge connector assembly comprises an elongate housing mounted on a mother board, and a switch key for engaging with the housing and activating inner circuitry formed in the mother board. The housing comprises an elongate slot formed between opposite side walls thereof for receiving a daughter board, a plurality of receiving passageways defined in each side wall for retaining contacts therein, a pair of cutouts transversely defined in a mating face of the housing, and a projection transversely formed between the side walls. The daughter board defines a pair of notches corresponding to one of the cutouts and the projection of the card edge connector. The switch key can transmit information to the mother board by electrical contact between a conductive membrane disposed on the switch key and the corresponding contacts received in the passageways below the corresponding cutout of the housing.

    Abstract: An electrical connector adapted to be mounted to a mother board, includes a casing defining a slot therein for receiving a daughter board and a plurality of pin pairs arranged in the slot for electrically engaging with the daughter board. The casing has a fixed member fixed in the slot and a switch key selectively fit into the slot at two locations corresponding to a 3.3V PCI connector and a 5V PCI connector. Thus, the connector may be selectively configured to be either a 3.3V PCI connector or a 5V PCI connector by setting the position of the switch key. The insertion of the switch key into the slot changes the spatial relationship between a pair of pins thereby transmitting a signal to the mother board for selecting the electrical voltage supplied to the connector corresponding to the configuration of the connector.

The spring portion of the second contact forms an S-shaped portion having a lower turning point spaced from a retention portion of the second contact a distance less than the vertical length of a free end of the second contact above a bottom face of the prestress portion that the free end of the second contact bears against.
