  • Patent number: 7377041
Abstract: A torsion beam type suspension and a forming method of a torsion beam are disclosed. In the torsion beam type suspension comprising a pair of left and right trailing arms connected to each other through a torsion beam, front ends of the trailing arms being used to mount a vehicle body by using joints, the torsion beam is obtained by forming an overall length of a pipe having a certain wall thickness by using a pressure forming process. In this case, end sections defined at both end portions of the torsion beam have a cross-sectional shape of a hollow oval, a center section defined at a center portion of the torsion beam has a cross-sectional shape of a hollow open loop, and middle sections defined between the center portion and both the end portions of the torsion beam have a cross-sectional shape of a hollow open loop. The loop of the middle sections defines an inner space larger than that defined by the loop of the center section.

  • Publication number: 20050103781
Abstract: An improved mounting structure for a flangeless fuel tank forcibly maintains an air-tightness at joined parts between top and bottom halves of a tank when the fuel tank is welded, thereby reducing the space and weight of the tank. The fuel tank is increased in capacity as much as a space of a flange can be adopted. The mounting structure comprises a top half of a tank protrusively formed at a lower external lateral surface thereof with a plurality of studs, a bottom half of a tank formed with grooves corresponding to the plurality of studs and partially inserted into the lower distal end of the top half of the tank, and fastening members for being fastened to the studs of the top half of the tank so that the top and bottom halves of the tank can be air-tightly welded.

  • Publication number: 20040255688
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a device for measuring a pedal-pushing force applied to a pedal of a vehicle. The device comprises a robot having a robotic arm that moves according to a moving track of the pedal while the posture of the robotic arm is controlled, and a load cell attached to the end of the robotic arm for detecting a pedal-pushing force applied to the pedal. To the end of the load cell is fixed a roller for minimizing frictional force generated at the measured surface of the pedal. The device further comprises a connection bracket fixed to the pedal, a rod having one end fixed to the load cell and the other end inserted into the connection bracket, and a pin for connecting the connection bracket and the rod such that the rod is rotated relative to the connection bracket, whereby a reverse load generated at the pedal is measured. According to the present invention, the pedal-pushing force applied to the pedal is accurately measured, as well as a reverse load generated at the pedal.
