Publication number: 20240031491Abstract: Novel tools and techniques are provided for implementing application programming interface (“API”)-based concurrent call path (“CCP”) provisioning. In various embodiments, in response to receiving a CCP provisioning request, a computing system may determine whether such a request would affect a set of trunk groups assigned to a customer based at least in part on network utilization data. If not, the computing system may cause the nodes in the network to increase or decrease, in near-real-time, the number of CCPs in at least one trunk group assigned to the customer based on the CCP provisioning request. If so, the computing system may cause the nodes in the network to increase or decrease, in near-real-time, the number of trunk groups assigned to the customer and may cause the nodes in the network to increase or decrease, in near-real-time, the number of CCPs in the updated number of trunk groups.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 29, 2023Publication date: January 25, 2024Applicant: Level 3 Communications, LLCInventors: Bridget McAndrew, Anne Kempen, Sudhir Dadi, Kevin Michelsen, Chris Baker

Publication number: 20220043830Abstract: A distributed data store may maintain versioned hierarchical data structures. Different versions of a hierarchical data structure may be maintained consistent with a transaction log for the hierarchical data structure. When access requests directed to the hierarchical data structure are received, a version of the hierarchical data structure may be identified for processing an access request. For access requests with snapshot isolation, the identified version alone may be sufficient to consistently process the access request. For access requests with higher isolation requirements, such as serializable isolation, transactions based on the access request may be submitted to the transaction log so that access requests resulting in committed transactions may be allowed, whereas access requests resulting in conflicting transactions may be denied.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 22, 2021Publication date: February 10, 2022Applicant: Amazon Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Srikanth Mandadi, Matthew Berry, Slavka Praus, Chris Baker, Marvin Michael Theimer, Anders Samuelsson, Khaled Salah Sedky

Patent number: 7401921Abstract: A motorized head supporting and positioning apparatus is disclosed, such as is useful for eye examination or treatment. The apparatus includes head-receiving supports, which can include a forehead rest and a chinrest, which can be linked by a single arm assembly. A main assembly of the apparatus contains a motor assembly, which can include three motors driven in a coupled manner to guide a head along a three-dimensional path at a speed that is comfortable to the patient. The apparatus can be relatively compact, owing at least in part to a pivoted approximate Z-axis movement along the optical axis. In addition to open-loop operation, the apparatus can be used with a tracking subsystem to achieve closed-loop positioning in real time, as well as to enable the activation of an examination/treatment instrument when the eye is brought within an acceptable tolerance of a desired position.Type: GrantFiled: May 12, 2004Date of Patent: July 22, 2008Assignee: Carl Zeiss Meditec, Inc.Inventors: Chris Baker, Kabir Arianta

Patent number: 7400410Abstract: An accurate measure of eye length can be obtained using concurrent OCT measurements. A position OCT device can be used to continually monitor the position of the front surface of the cornea, while a distance OCT device can determine the apparent distance between the front surface of the cornea and the front surface of the retina. Since the eye is likely to move during the period of time between measurements of the cornea and retina, the monitored position of the cornea can be used to correct the apparent length measurement by the amount of eye movement over that period of time, in order to obtain an accurate measure of eye length. In some embodiments a single OCT device can serve the dual role of monitoring eye position while making eye length measurements.Type: GrantFiled: October 5, 2005Date of Patent: July 15, 2008Assignee: Carl Zeiss Meditec, Inc.Inventors: Chris Baker, Matthew J.
