  • Patent number: 10476253
Abstract: A power pedestal including a receptacle, a circuit breaker electrically connected between a power source and the receptacle and including separable contacts structured to trip open and electrically disconnect the receptacle from the power source, a current sensor structured to detect current flowing to the receptacle, and a ground fault detection device structured to sense a ground fault based on an output of the current sensor and to control the circuit breaker to trip open the separable contacts in response to detecting the ground fault. The ground fault detection device has an adjustable range of ground fault protection.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 11, 2016
Date of Patent: November 12, 2019
    Assignee: EATON INTELLIGENT POWER LIMITED
Inventors: Jason Demetrios Easton, Chris Emmons Drueke, Paul David Seff
  • Patent number: 9991689
Abstract: A mounting assembly is for a power pedestal including a number of electrical components. The mounting assembly includes a plurality of mounting members including a first mounting member and a second mounting member each structured to engage an elongated support member and be coupled to the elongated support member. The elongated support member has an end portion. The plurality of mounting members are cooperatively structured to enclose the end portion.

Date of Patent: June 5, 2018
    Assignee: EATON INTELLIGENT POWER LIMITED
Inventors: Chris Emmons Drueke, Jeffery Scott Kuykendall, Paul David Seff
  • Patent number: 9983615
Abstract: A splitter cord for use with a power pedestal including a plurality of receptacles, the splitter cord includes a plurality of branch circuits each having a first end including a connector structured to electrically connect to one of the plurality of receptacles, a second end electrically connected to a common node, and a current regulator electrically connected between the first and second ends and being structured to control current flowing through said branch circuit such that current exiting said one receptacle is substantially equal to current entering said one receptacle, and a stem circuit having a first end including a connector structured to electrically connect to a device or vehicle receptacle and a second end electrically connected to the common node. A sum of currents flowing through the plurality of branch circuits is equal to current flowing through the stem circuit.

  • Publication number: 20170169685
Abstract: A power pedestal structured to be attached to a platform in the vicinity of water, the power pedestal including a pedestal member including a base structured to be attached to the platform and an enclosure extending from said base. The power pedestal further includes a stray current detection unit including a stray current probe structured to extend outside the enclosure and into the water to sense a voltage in the water and a stray current detection circuit electrically connected to the stray current probe and structured to detect a stray current in the water based on the voltage sensed by the stray current probe and to output an indicator signal in response to detecting the stray current. The power pedestal also includes an indicator electrically coupled to the stray current detection unit and structured to provide an indication in response to the indicator signal.
