Patent number: 11987983Abstract: Roofing shingles are disclosed that are capable of self-adhering to a roof deck or underlayment and/or other roofing shingles and that require few or no mechanical fasteners to remain attached to the roof. By appropriate positioning of sealant lines on the shingle, direct adhesion between the shingle and the roof deck or underlayment and/or other roofing shingles can be achieved. If the shingle is laminated, the layers may be mechanically attached with indentations in the common bond area. The nail zone of the shingle may be visually indicated with fines and/or one or more paint lines. A roofing system comprising a plurality of courses of the shingles is also disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: December 13, 2022Date of Patent: May 21, 2024Assignee: BMIC LLCInventors: Daniel E. Boss, Ming-Liang Shiao, James Svec, Chris Searcy, Nicholas Thurston

Patent number: 9563127Abstract: The invention teaches a system and method for catalyzing on a substrate. The system includes a light source and a digital light patterning device which is controlled by a controller coupled to a computer. The digital patterning device includes an array of liquid crystals, each of which being electronically controlled by the computer through the controller. When a liquid crystal is on, the light from the light source passes through the liquid crystal. When it is off, the light is blocked. According to the visual image pattern presented in the computer's interface, the array, wherein some crystals are on and some are off, shows a light pattern which is consistent with the visual image pattern on the computer screen. Accordingly, the patterned light is shed onto a substrate where the light catalyzes a chemical reaction proximate a substrate.Type: GrantFiled: September 30, 2014Date of Patent: February 7, 2017Assignee: AVENTGENE INC.Inventors: Chengzhang Li, Cheng Chun Chris Liang

Patent number: 9463905Abstract: The present invention teaches a new apparatus and process for manufacturing mesh bags using a tube cloth. The apparatus and process involve supplying a continuous tube cloth and at least one band with preprinted labels, propping up the tube cloth with a dynamic guiding assembly, attaching the preprinted labels to the tube cloth using hot melted adhesive or heat sealing methods and manufacturing a product from the tube cloth with the horizontal preprinted labels, and attaching plastic film to the tube mesh cloth. The invention also teaches a dynamic guiding assembly which can be used to punch holes on the tube cloth with heating press and avoid attaching of two opposite sides of the tube cloth.Type: GrantFiled: July 7, 2012Date of Patent: October 11, 2016Inventors: Hsiehyueh Wang Liang, Cheng Chun Chris Liang

Publication number: 20140133784Abstract: The present invention teaches a new mesh bag made from a roll of continuous mesh tube cloth. The continuous tube cloth and at least one band with preprinted labels are used in a machine which props up the tube cloth with a dynamic guiding assembly, attaches the preprinted labels to the tube cloth using hot melted adhesive or heat sealing methods. The tube cloth is attached with the horizontal preprinted labels and the plastic film to the tube mesh cloth. A pair of holes are punched over the plastic film.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 21, 2014Publication date: May 15, 2014Inventors: Hsiehyueh Wang Liang, Cheng Chun Chris Liang

Publication number: 20040138255Abstract: The invention relates to trifluoromethyl sulfonyl and trifluoromethyl sulfonamido compounds and the physiologically acceptable salts and the prodrugs thereof. These compounds are expected to modulate the activity of protein tyrosine enzymes which are related to cellular signal transduction, in particular, protein tyrosine phosphatase, and therefore are expected to be useful in the prevention and treatment of disorders associated with abnormal protein tyrosine enzyme related cellular signal transduction such as cancer, diabetes, immuno-modulation, neurologic degenerative diseases, osteoporosis and infectious diseases. The invention also relates to the use of compounds containing fluoromethyl sulfonyl groups as phosphate mimics. These mimics may be used to inhibit, regulate or modulate the activity of a phosphate binding protein in a cell.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 14, 2003Publication date: July 15, 2004Applicant: Sugen, Inc.Inventors: Ping Huang, Chung Chen Wei, Peng Cho Tang, Congxin (Chris) Liang, John Ramphal, Bahija Jallal, John Biltz, Xiaoyuan (Sharon) Li, Matt Mattson, Gerald McMahon, Marcel Koenig
