  • Publication number: 20180008498
Abstract: The exemplary embodiments herein provide a method for controlling access to medications. The method preferably includes the step of electronically unlocking a lid for a single bin out of a plurality of bins within a delivery module at a first location, to accept a medication into the unlocked bin, where the rest of the bins in the same delivery module remain locked. The method should then engage a mechanical lock on the lid once it has been closed, maintain the bin in a locked state during transport to a second location, and engage a mechanical lock on the delivery module once it has been lowered into a drawer at the second location.

  • Patent number: 9821765
Abstract: A steering column lock comprises a bearing-mounted, free-rotating keyhole cover that covers an underlying locking device. When installed on the steering column of a vehicle, the steering column lock prevents a would-be car thief from grabbing the lock with pliers or another tool and using the lock to turn the steering column and thus drive the vehicle, because rotation of the free-rotating outer cover does not cause rotation of the other portions of the lock.

  • Publication number: 20170268220
Abstract: A truss clamp assembly includes a lower support member extending in a lateral direction, a vertical rod coupled to the lower support member and extending in a vertical direction that is transverse to the lateral direction, a first engagement portion coupled to the vertical rod and spaced apart from the lower support member in the vertical direction, and a second engagement portion coupled to the vertical rod and spaced apart from the lower support member in the vertical direction, where the second engagement portion is spaced apart from the first engagement portion in the lateral direction, such that the first engagement portion and the second engagement portion define a gap positioned between the first engagement portion and the second engagement portion in the lateral direction.

  • Publication number: 20160292779
Abstract: Techniques for modifying a garment based on gestures are presented herein. An access module can access a first set of sensor data from a first sensor, and a second set of sensor data from a second sensor. A garment simulation module can generate a three-dimensional (3D) garment model of a garment available for sale draped on an avatar based on the first set of sensor data and the second set of sensor data. A display module can cause a presentation, on a display of a device, of the 3D garment model draped on the avatar. Additionally, the garment simulation module can determine a modification gesture associated with the 3D garment model draped on the avatar based on the first set of sensor data and the second set of sensor data. Furthermore, the garment simulation module can modify the 3D garment model based on the determined modification gesture.

  • Publication number: 20160034455
Abstract: A method of matching media objects comprises identifying an unknown media item as being the same media item as one of a plurality of known media items by comparing identifying information of the unknown media item with identifying information of one or more known media items. Comparing the identifying information comprises generating a match score for the unknown media item and at least one of the plurality of known media items by comparing the identifying information and determining that the media items match if the match score exceeds a fuzzy match threshold score. If the match score is below the fuzzy match threshold score but above a weak match threshold score, a crowdsource determination of whether the media items match is generated by receiving from two or more users a user determination of whether the media items match.

  • Publication number: 20150320963
Abstract: A method and corresponding device are described for combating microbes and infections by delivering intermittent high doses of nitric oxide to a mammal for a period of time and which cycles between high and low concentration of nitric oxide gas. The high concentration of nitric oxide is preferably delivered intermittently for brief periods of time that are interspersed with periods of time with either no nitric oxide delivery or lower concentrations of nitric oxide. The method is advantageous because at higher concentration, nitric oxide gas overwhelms the defense mechanism of pathogens that use the mammalian body to replenish their thiol defense system. A lower dose or concentration of nitric oxide gas delivered in between the bursts of high concentration nitric oxide maintains nitrosative stress pressure on the pathogens and also reduces the risk of toxicity of nitric oxide gas.

  • Publication number: 20150178788
Abstract: A method of operating a recommendation system comprises presenting a plurality of subscribed streaming media item recommendations to a user based on known user preferences. The subscribed streaming media item recommendations include streaming media items from at least one subscribed streaming media service, from a plurality of available streaming media services. An advertisement is presented for an unsubscribed streaming media service to which the user does not subscribe, from the plurality of available streaming media services. The advertisement comprises a plurality of streaming media items available from the unsubscribed streaming media service, based on known user preferences and presented in a format substantially similar to a format of the presented subscribed streaming media item recommendations.

  • Patent number: 9049358
Abstract: The invention is a camera holder extension that includes a telescoping extension to allow a user to take photos at a distance beyond the reach of the user. The invention includes an actuator switch, located in the handle of the extension, which is wired to be in communication with a digital camera integrated device. The actuator switch operates the exposure function of the camera at the distance beyond the reach of the user via a wired digital connection to the device. The invention also includes a lockable two part ball joint that enables articulation of the camera into various positions.

  • Patent number: 9008168
Abstract: A method of equalizing signals from a plurality of balanced transmission line cables having different lengths includes providing a first cable having a first length and a second cable having a second length, the first cable coupled to a variable resistor. A first signal is transmitted along the first cable to the variable resistor such that the first signal is attenuated to assume a first frequency domain characteristic. A second signal is transmitted along the second cable such that the second signal is attenuated to assume a second frequency domain characteristic. A voltage of the first signal is divided in the variable resistor such that the first signal assumes substantially the second frequency domain characteristic. The first signal having the second frequency domain characteristic is outputted.
