  • Publication number: 20240163447
Abstract: To allow better quality rendering of video on any display, a method is proposed of encoding, in addition to video data (VID), additional data (DD) comprising at least one change time instant (TMA_1) indicating a change in time of a characteristic luminance (CHRLUM) of the video data, which characteristic luminance summarizes the set of luminances of pixels in an image of the video data, the method comprising: generating on the basis of the video data (VID) descriptive data (DED) regarding the characteristic luminance variation of the video, the descriptive data comprising at least one change time instant (TMA_1), and encoding and outputting the descriptive data (DED) as additional data (DD).

  • Publication number: 20240071179
Abstract: A system and method for managing a game including generating a grid with a processing device. The grid is comprised of a plurality of squares defined by a plurality of rows and a plurality of columns. The method also includes establishing betting odds for each of the squares and presenting the squares and associated betting odds on a graphical user interface. The betting odds of each of the squares are associated with a likelihood of the square being established as a winning square. A winning square is designated in response to a score of a live sporting event including a digit of a score of a first team being the same as a row number of the square, and a digit of a score of a second team being the same as a column number of the square at the end of a predetermined interval of the live sporting event.

  • Publication number: 20230309910
Abstract: Systems and methods for monitoring penile tumescence are provided that overcome the drawbacks of previously known systems by providing a wearable formed of a flexible and elastic tube having a plurality of sensors disposed on or embedded within it, the wearable configured to be applied to a penis of a subject, and a spaced-apart controller operatively coupled to retrieve data regarding circumferential and axial dimensional changes and penile rigidity from the plurality of sensors and transmit that data to an external computer or smartphone for analysis and display. The plurality of sensors may be coupled to the spaced-apart controller via a flexible lead or wirelessly using a passive RFID system.

  • Publication number: 20230298446
Abstract: A sensor apparatus includes an interface configured to interface and communicate with a network, a sensor unit configured to measure and report an output representative of a motion state for the sensor apparatus, memory and processing circuitry configured to execute operational instructions to receive the output signal from the sensor unit, where the output signal is representative of one of a plurality of motion states for the sensor unit and the output signal includes information sufficient to determine one or more changes to an environment associated with the sensor apparatus. The processing circuitry is configured to classify, via an artificial intelligence model, the output signal according to previously classified events to produce a classified output determine whether to transmit a notification to the network.

  • Publication number: 20230082828
Abstract: A skylight includes a transparent member such as glass and a frame holding the transparent member. The frame has a rectilinear horizontal top overlapping a top of the transparent member, a rectilinear horizontal base parallel to the horizontal top and overlapping a bottom of the transparent member, and a rectilinear vertical side connecting the top to the base. The base is wider than the top to accommodate plural differently sized curbs. To provide for an operable assembly, an operable base may first be engaged with the roof and the skylight hinged to the base to open and close.

  • Publication number: 20220335457
Abstract: A facility for assembling a list of survey qualification questions to present to a person is described. The facility first initializes the list to be empty. The facility adds to the initialized list a survey qualification question for a survey elected by the person. Until the list reaches a predetermined size, repeats the following: for each of a group of candidate survey qualification questions, for each of the survey qualification questions on the list, the facility determines an asymmetric overlap score for the candidate survey qualification question with the survey qualification question on the list; among the determined asymmetric overlap scores, the facility determining a lowest one, and moves one or more survey qualification questions from the group of candidate survey qualification questions to the list.

  • Patent number: 10559224
Abstract: A digit card calculator is implemented on a touch screen computer. The calculator presents a user input area to receive input of an arithmetic problem. The calculator then presents a workspace area where the digits of the numbers in the arithmetic problem are presented as rectangular digit cards. The digit cards are arranged in place value columns. Bead tokens are presented on digit cards. Each bead token shows or implies the number of beads in the place value of a column. The number of bead tokens on a digit card is equal to the number on the digit card. Individual columns in the arithmetic problem are solved by touching a digit card and moving it down. Carrying in an addition problem is shown by the movement of carry cards. Borrowing in a subtraction problem is shown by the movement of digit tokens from one column to the next.

  • Patent number: 10191886
Abstract: A gesture controlled calculator has a touch screen controlled by a microprocessor. The touch screen receives a multiplication problem input by a user through a virtual keyboard. After the problem is entered, the calculator breaks up the problem into easy multiplication problems and then very easy multiplication problems in response to touch gestures by the user. The very easy multiplication problems are then presented on the graphical user interface of the touch screen as columns of virtual digits cards. The virtual digit cards are added together in response to touch gestures by the user. The solutions to the very easy multiplication problems are then presented as columns of digit cards. These digit cards are then added together in response to touch gestures by the user. The solution to the multiplication problem is then presented in the graphical user interface.
