  • Patent number: 3985686
Abstract: This invention relates to enzymatic detergent compositions containing a combination of anionic and cationic surface-active agents. In more detail, these compositions contain as essential ingredients enzymes, preferably proteases, in combination with an essentially binary active system comprising a cationic surface-active agent and an anionic surface-active agent whereby these detergent ingredients are to used in well-defined ratios. The performance advantages derivable from the use of these compositions principally reside in the improved cleaning, especially stain removal, performance. Additionally, some textile softening can be obtained from the compositions claimed as well. Obviously, the occurrennce of that latter advantage depends upon the nature of the cationic-active ingredients used and upon the ratio of cationic to anionic surface-active agents.
