  • Publication number: 20220174873
Abstract: A self-propelling combine and a method for operating a self-propelling combine are disclosed. The combine includes an axial spreader, which generates a residual flow of material and supplies the residual flow of material to a downstream distribution device that discharges the residual flow of material from the combine. The axial separator in the end-side material delivery region has at least one guide element that may be moved by an actuator, thereby affecting a distribution of the exiting residual flow of material over the supply width of the distribution device. The distribution of the residual flow of material is detected by at least one sensor unit, and when a deviation from a target distribution is detected, the guide element is adjusted. A control device receives and uses a signal representing a side wind used to automatically adjust of the at least one guide element.

  • Publication number: 20210298235
Abstract: A self-propelling combine and a method for operating a self-propelling combine are disclosed. The combine includes a straw chopper for processing a residual flow formed by plant residues, a cleaning device for cleaning a flow of material formed primarily by grains from residual components contained therein, a chaff spreader, and a power spreader. Using the chaff spreader, the residual components separated from the flow of material by the cleaning device are removed. Further, the residual flow, processed using the straw chopper, is ejected using the power spreader. For improved distribution of unutilized plant residues on the field, the power spreader is assigned to the straw chopper at the bottom such that the residual flow leaving the straw chopper is transferred directly to a material inlet region of the power spreader, and the residual components leaving the chaff spreader are emitted into a transfer region upstream from the power spreader.

  • Patent number: 10492364
Abstract: A combine harvester having a chopper configured for chopping crop, which comprises a cutting cylinder fitted with chopper knives, a knife carrier fitted with counter knives, and a rasp bar arrangement. The counter knives and/or the rasp bar arrangement can be moved into a partial stream passing by the chopper. The harvester also has a crop spreading device configured for spreading the chopped-material stream emerging from the combine harvester on the ground in the rear region of the combine harvester, and a sensor unit configured for generating sensor data which represent at least one parameter influencing the spreading quality of the chopped-material stream emerging from the combine harvester. There is a control unit that adapts the position of the rasp bar arrangement and/or the counter knives depending on the spreading quality.

  • Publication number: 20150038201
Abstract: A combine harvester is configured with a chopping mechanism for chopping crop that includes a cutting cylinder equipped with knives, a knife carrier equipped with counter-knives and a friction concave plate and, downstream thereof a rasp bar. The knife carrier and the friction concave plate are each swivellable about a swivel axis, which enables the knife carrier and the friction concave plate to be moved into a position in which the counter-knives, the rasp bar or both extend at least partially into a crop stream passing through the chopping mechanism. The knife carrier and the friction concave plate are each adjusted using an actuator without the use of tools.

  • Publication number: 20140364179
Abstract: A combine harvester includes a first discharge mechanism having a changeable discharge direction, a chopping assembly for chopping up straw and a second discharge mechanism disposed downstream of the chopping assembly. The second discharge mechanism disposed is operated at least two different positions. In a first position, the second discharge mechanism is supplied with crop from the chopping assembly and the first discharge mechanism. In a second position, the second discharge mechanism disposed permits crop to be discharged upon bypassing the second discharge mechanism. The discharge direction of the first discharge mechanism is dependent upon the operating state of the chopping assembly.
