  • Patent number: 8517602
Abstract: A method of using a temperature sensor to determine the temperature of an object is described. The method comprises bringing the temperature sensor into thermal contact with the object to be measured. The temperature sensor is then used to acquire a plurality of temperature readings, the plurality of temperature readings being acquired prior to the temperature sensor reaching thermal equilibrium with the object. At least some of the plurality of temperature readings are then used to determine a pseudo-stable temperature at which the rate of change of temperature readings with time is less than a predetermined rate. The actual temperature of the object may then be predicted from the pseudo-stable temperature.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: August 27, 2013
    Assignee: Renishaw PLC

  • Patent number: 5705965
Abstract: Cavity filter with comb-line structure having a steep-flanked flanked pass-band. To obtain this steep flank, rejectors are positioned in the vicinity of the access bars of the filter, orthogonally to the teeth of the comb-line structure. The best results are obtained for the flanks corresponding to the high frequencies of the pass-band, namely with rejectors tuned to frequencies higher than the center frequency of the pass-band.

  • Patent number: 4371877
Abstract: A thin-structure aerial is formed by means of a sheet of a dielectric substrate 1, whose rear surface is covered with a layer 2 of a conductive material and whose front surface has at least one radiating slot 4 formed in another layer 3 of a conductive material covering said substrate. Means 5are provided for simulating lateral walls surrounding at least one radiating slot. The aerial is characterized in that it is provided with at least one feed slot 10 which is formed in said layer of a conductive material covering the front surface and which is arranged parallel to and in the vicinity of the radiating slot.
