  • Publication number: 20240123549
Abstract: A description is given of a method for the laser welding of two parts to be joined (1) that are positioned in relation to one another, in which method the laser head, with the laser beam (9) emitted from it, and the two parts to be joined (1), with the joint (3) thereof, are moved in relation to one another in a feeding direction along the longitudinal extent of the joint (3) and the laser beam (9) produces in the joint (3) a weld seam with a target welding-in depth (8) which is deeper than the critical welding-in depth of the parts to be joined (1), wherein the welding method is performed in two steps and, to form the weld seam connecting the two parts to be joined (1), in a first step material in the joint (3) is melted by the laser beam (9) down to the target welding-in depth (8) and wherein, in a subsequent step, the weld seam produced by the first step is melted once again down to a welding-in depth which, as a maximum, corresponds to the critical welding-in depth of the parts to be joined (1).

  • Patent number: 11819944
Abstract: A carrier component for a vehicle application, formed by two half-shells that are welded to one another at contact sides. When assembling the two half-shells for joining same at the contact sides, in a position in which the two half-shells are arranged above one another, the point of contact of the lower half-shell protrudes in relation to the external closed side of the other half-shell. The point of contact of one of the two half-shells protrudes inward in relation to the internal closed side of the other half-shell. A method for producing a carrier component from two half-shells is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 11358238
Abstract: A method for laser welding the end faces of joints of two connecting flanges, which are held against each other, of two connecting partners made from a steel material, of which at least one is provided with a metallic coating with an evaporation temperature that is below the melting temperature of the steel material. The method is carried out such that, for the process of laser welding, the connecting flanges of the two connecting partners are held against each other enclosing an angle that opens pointing in a direction from the joint side on which the laser is applied, as a result of which a degassing gap, which increases in the direction of heat introduction, is provided between the connecting flanges, through which degassing gap evaporation products of the coating material resulting from the introduction of heat are carried off.

  • Publication number: 20190375047
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for laser welding the end faces of joints (2, 2.1) of two connecting flanges, which are held against each other, of two connecting partners (1, 1.1) made from a steel material, of which at least one is provided with a metallic coating with an evaporation temperature that is below the melting temperature of the steel material. The method is carried out such that, for the process of laser welding, the connecting flanges (1, 1.1) of the two connecting partners (1, 1.1) are held against each other enclosing an angle that opens pointing in a direction from the joint side on which the laser is applied, as a result of which a degassing gap (5), which increases in the direction of heat introduction, is provided between the connecting flanges (3, 3.1), through which degassing gap evaporation products of the coating material (8, 8.1) resulting from the introduction of heat are carried off.
