  • Publication number: 20100204851
Abstract: The present disclosure is concerned with controlling distributing of electrical power in a power distribution region. To effectively control the distribution of power in the distribution region, the substation of the region is provided with a distribution controller or Intelligent Substation Control System (ISCS). The distribution controller is connected to various process devices, which in turn are connected to primary devices of the region. The process devices send data corresponding to the primary devices to the distribution controller, and the distribution controller includes a processor which proposes a set of actions based on the received data. Further, the distribution controller includes a coordinating device which selects the final action from the set of proposed actions. The final action is implemented on the primary devices of the distribution region.

  • Publication number: 20090070051
Abstract: A Substation Automation testing tool for IEC 61850 compliant substations is disclosed. It is concerned with the verification of the configuration of a first Intelligent Electronic Device (IED) that is part of a Substation Automation (SA) system and that has initially been configured to perform measurement, protection and/or control functions in accordance with a substation configuration specification. Configuration information is first read from an internal server of the first IED and transformed according to a dedicated data model. Related information is then read from e.g. a second IED that has initially been configured to perform the same functions as the first IED, or from a Substation Configuration Description (SCD) file, and likewise transformed. The transformed data is then compared in order to identify discrepancies or inconsistencies and to resolve errors introduced by the IED configuration process.

  • Publication number: 20080316015
Abstract: The present invention is concerned with an alarm system and a method for suppressing redundant alarms in a monitored system. The alarm system comprises a process control unit, an FDI unit, a filter, and an alarm display unit. The process control unit detects anomalies in the monitored system and generates alarms corresponding to them. The FDI unit diagnoses failures in the monitored system and generates a failure-cause-effect graph comprising a list of generated alarms, along with the alarms corresponding to the causes and effects of each listed alarm. The FDI unit dynamically updates the failure-cause-effect graph concurrently with the generation of alarms by the process control unit and the diagnosis of failures by the FDI unit. The filter receives the generated alarms and identifies redundant and not-yet-classified alarms from the received alarms, by using the failure-cause-effect graph.

  • Publication number: 20080299060
Abstract: A method for topically and systemically delivering a pharmaceutical composition to a human nail is disclosed, said method comprising the application of a pharmaceutical composition to the nail, covering the nail and the pharmaceutical composition with a protective layer, and a dissolvent to remove the protective layer and the pharmaceutical composition after a certain time of action and before reapplication. Preferably the method is combined with a laser pretreatment of the nail to drill arrays of partial orifices to enhance the permeability of drugs through the nail plate.

  • Publication number: 20080234872
Abstract: The present disclosure is concerned with a validation of a configuration description of automated devices in a power network such as a Substation Automation (SA) system, or of a part or component thereof such as an individual Intelligent Electronic Device (IED), that is extended beyond the mere XML schema validation as provided by the known SCL-validation tools. In particular, the disclosure introduces machine-based validation of notations, requirements and/or conventions to be respected by the configuration description and/or the SA system, but not incorporated in or represented by the standardized syntax of the XML schema as defined in part 6 of the IEC 61850 standard. To this end, notations, requirements and/or conventions are initially converted into, or defined as, extended or augmented rules encoded in computer readable format.

  • Publication number: 20070185591
Abstract: A system and method of converting a file is disclosed that is based on a first standard to a file that is based on a second standard. The concerned standards can be IEC 61970 and IEC 61850 or their equivalents. For conversion, a file based on IEC 61970 is coded according to CIMXML (RDF Schema), and a file in IEC 61850 is coded according to SCL (XML Schema). The data in each file is modelled by using a UML model for the corresponding standard. The method includes the automatic generation of mapping rules that can be based on the UML models of the two standards and the mappings between the two standards. The method further converts the identified elements by using the generated mapping rules. Finally, post-processing rules can be applied to the converted elements to generate the file, based on the second standard.

  • Publication number: 20020145364
Abstract: A hand towel dispenser of the type that unrolls clean towel from a roll in metered portions, dispenses the clean towel in the form of a towel loop, and rolls used towel portions on a takeup roll utilizes a used towel portion to form a length of the towel loop, thus conserving clean towel dispensation and use. An oscillating roller forms an additional loop of used towel within the dispenser. The roller tracks within the dispenser to allow the formed additional towel loop to be formed into a part of the main towel loop.

  • Patent number: 6267460
Abstract: A towel dispenser is provided with a pivoting unit into which a winding roller driven by way of a friction drive is mounted in an easily suspensible manner. An additional loop, which is tightened by a compensator roller in a direction +p, is formed in the dispenser in front of the winding roller, and when clean towel is pulled down a portion of used towel (T′) is used to form the rear part of a loop of cloth (T; T′) used in the front part. Changing used cloth (T′) and loading with clean towel (T) is performed by rotating the pivoting unit, can be carried out in a very simple manner and is completed by opening or closing the cover of the dispenser. A path- and time-dependent control of the towel delivery is integrated in the dispenser.
