  • Patent number: 8448751
Abstract: An elevator door system includes an elevator car having a front face defining a door opening. At least one elevator door is coupled to the front face of the elevator car for movement between an open position exposing the door opening and a closed position covering the door opening. At least one drive motor is mounted on the front face of the elevator car and is disposed between a lower edge and an upper edge of the elevator car. The drive motor is drivingly coupled to the elevator door for moving the elevator door between the open and the closed positions.

  • Patent number: 5584365
Abstract: A telescoping elevator door apparatus for an elevator having a car for travel in a hoistway is provided. The door apparatus comprises a fast elevator door, a slow elevator door, a first drive, and a second drive. The fast and slow doors are positioned to operate between the car and a landing in the hoistway. In a first embodiment, the first drive selectively drives the fast elevator door open or closed and the second drive selectively drives the slow elevator door open or closed.

  • Patent number: 5207298
Abstract: An elevator door interlock has a camming surface which is in contact with a lead of an electrical circuit and has a bridge thereon. The camming surface rotates the bridge into contact with the lead if a hoistway door is locked and out of contact with the lead if the hoistway door is not locked.

  • Patent number: 5203431
Abstract: An elevator door interlock has a camming surface which is in contact with a lead of an electrical circuit during normal operation and has a bridge thereon. The interlock rotates the camming surface along the lead to contact the bridge if an elevator door is locked, to not contact the lead if the elevator door is not locked, and to rotate the camming surface out of contact with the leads if the door is missing.

  • Patent number: 5139112
Abstract: An elevator door system utilizes a cam to unlatch hoistway doors. The cam is required by code to have a greater swing motion than is required to unlock the hoistway doors. A mechanism follows the motion of the cam and locks the car doors when the cam is beyond the swing motion required to actuate a hoistway door lock. If the cam operates within the normal swing motion, it is in contact with a hoistway door lock. If the retiring cam is not in contact with the hoistway door lock, the car must not be a safe exiting zone and the car door is locked by the mechanism.

  • Patent number: 5129486
Abstract: A center opening, linkage driven elevator door system comprises: a single door lock; an air cord; a first hoistway door attached to the air cord; a second hoistway door having a stop in register with the air cord, the second hoistway door being locked by said lock; an abutment attaching to the air cord, the abutment contacting the stop attached to the second hoistway door when the first and second hoistway doors are closed such that the first hoistway door cannot move when the second hoistway door is locked, the abutment not contacting the stop during the opening of the doors due to the different relative speeds of the first and second hoistway doors.
