  • Patent number: 5594334
Abstract: A bearing with integrated data sensor has a stationary bearing ring, a rotatable bearing ring, and rolling elements in contact with the bearing rings. An encoder is mounted on the rotatable bearing ring, and a sealing gasket is mounted on the stationary bearing ring. A sleeve for protection of a sensor cable is integrally connected to the sealing gasket and has a groove for housing a sensor means which is connected to the sensor cable. The sleeve has a wall of its extremity which is substantially perpendicular to an external side of the sealing gasket through which the sensor cable exits such that it is tangential to said external side of the sealing gasket.

  • Patent number: 5523681
Abstract: A seal with internal reinforcement is mountable on a stationary ring of a bearing, an insulating film with conductive tracks being fixed to the reinforcement. A sensor element, for sensing an encoder element carried by a rotating ring of the bearing, contacts the insulating film and the conductive tracks. Constitutive material of the seal covers at least a portion of the reinforcement and the insulating film and provides protection for the conductive tracks and sensor element. Connecting devices for passing wiring through the reinforcement are also described.

  • Patent number: 4946295
Abstract: A bearing with a rotating ring and a radially spaced fixed ring is mounted in the bore of a housing. A seal extends radially across the annulus between the bearing rings. An information sensor support is mounted in the housing and located adjacent one axial end of the bearing. The information sensor mounted in the information sensor support faces the seal. The seal has an axial portion with circumferentially separated holes. The axial portion extends toward the information sensor. The annular information sensor support has an axial portion extending toward the seal. This axial portion has a plurality of circumferentially separated radially extending retainers which pass through the seal holes and into an annular groove formed on the inside surface of the fixed ring.
