  • Patent number: 11103906
Abstract: A cooling system (2) for cooling metal rolling stock. A plurality of cooling bars (8) for applying a coolant onto the rolling stock, one dedicated coolant supply line (36) for each cooling bar (8), and a feed system (9) for guiding the coolant to the coolant supply lines (36). Each cooling bar (8) is connected to the feed system (9) via a dedicated coolant supply line (36). A bypass line (48, 52) for discharging a coolant flow from the feed system (9), is connected on the input side to a connection element (51, 53) of the feed system (9).
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 9433984
Abstract: A method for lubricating the cylinders of a roll stand, for roll nip lubrication in a roll stand for a roll band. A mixture of water and oil is produced by a mixing and spraying device, which is supplied with water by a first supply line (3) and is supplied with oil by a second supply line (2). The mixture is sprayed to the strip and/or into the roll nip and/or to at least one of the cylinders of the roll stand. The water flowing to the mixing and spraying device (10) is heated by a heating device (6) provided in the first supply line (3) for a predetermined period of time set by controlling a control unit (9).
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 9269237
Abstract: The apparatus for detecting a foreign object mounted in the near range of an input means used for identification and/or authentication includes at least a coupler. The coupler is arranged to supply an oscillating signal to two input terminals of an antenna for generating a standing wave, to supply the oscillating signal with a predetermined level to a detection device, and to couple out, for the detection device, a reflection signal received by the antenna. Furthermore, the coupler is arranged to detect a phase difference between the supplied oscillating signal with the predetermined level and the reflection signal that is coupled out, in order to detect the foreign object.

Date of Patent: February 23, 2016
    Assignee: KEBA AG
    Inventors: Erwin Schimbaeck, Christian Lehner

  • Patent number: 8577034
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and devices for protecting a reading device (1) for card-shaped data carriers (2) against unauthorized evaluation or copying of magnetically encoded data detected in the reading device (1) for card-shaped data carriers (2). To this end, an electromagnetic noise field (18) is generated by means of a noise field coil (17). The use or disposition of the at least one noise field coil (17) is such that the authorized magnetic field reading head (10) is also affected by the noise field (18) of the noise field coil (17) when the magnetically encoded data of a card-shaped data carrier (2) is being read. An output or sum signal of the authorized magnetic field reading head (10) generated from the wanted signal of a card-shaped data carrier (2) and from the effects of the noise field (18) is detected.
