  • Patent number: 9428133
Abstract: An airbag housing can be detachably fixed to at least one abutting wall area via at least one fixing device. The airbag housing has a plurality of tongues protruding laterally outwards on at least two opposing sides. The tongues arranged next to one another on one side are each spaced from the next by the width of at least one tongue. For the tongues of the airbag housing, a fixing frame on the dashboard has corresponding undercuts, and therefore the fixed airbag module is connected to the tongues in a form-locking manner in the undercuts.

  • Publication number: 20160018269
Abstract: An approach to nanoscale thermometry that utilizes coherent manipulation of the electronic spin associated with nitrogen-vacancy (NV) color centers in diamond is disclosed. The methods and apparatus allow for detection of temperature variations down to milli-Kelvin resolution, at nanometer length scales. This biologically compatible approach to thermometry offers superior temperature sensitivity and reproducibility with a reduced measurement time. The disclosed apparatus can be used to study heat-generating intracellular processes.

  • Publication number: 20150175118
Abstract: An airbag module for a motor vehicle has at least one airbag and at least one gas generator which are housed in an airbag housing. The airbag housing can be detachably fixed to at least one abutting wall area by at least one fixing device, wherein the fixing device is formed as a push-in and slide connection. The airbag housing is placed on the wall section for mounting and is longitudinally displaced into a holding position in which the airbag housing is held in a form-locking manner by the fixing frame. When the airbag module is longitudinally displaced into the holding position, the airbag housing engages with the fixing frame, and therefore the airbag housing is prevented from being longitudinally displaced out of the holding position.

  • Publication number: 20110187529
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a method for monitoring the quality of a fuel containing alcohol in a storage tank (1) including a sump area (8), wherein the density of the fluid present in the sump area (8) of the storage tank (1) is measured and compared to prescribed values characterizing the density of a mixed phase comprising water and alcohol as a function of the composition thereof.

  • Publication number: 20090265132
Abstract: A device for determining the density of a fluid comprises a buoyant body, a spring which engages on the buoyant body and whose elastic deformation is a measure of the buoyancy force of the buoyant body, and a magnet which is designed to sense the elastic deformation of the spring by means of a magnetostrictive position-measuring system. The spring is compressively loaded and, if the buoyancy force of the buoyant body is greater than its weight, said spring acts on the buoyant body underneath its centre of buoyancy. The device is preferably used to determine the density of fuel, a magnetostrictive filling level measuring system which is present in a storage tank for fuel being used.

  • Patent number: 7258142
Abstract: A gas recirculation system at a filling station is controlled during a refuelling process by generating a corrective control signal used for the next refuelling process, to actuate the gas recirculation system and control the gas volume flow, based on the fuel volume flow signal and the gas volume flow signal as well as optionally further signals.

  • Patent number: 6848712
Abstract: In a method of triggering a vehicle occupant restraining device, at least one sensor signal generated by a crash sensor is supplied to an analyzing device, which determines the crash severity, and a time for the triggering of the restraining device based on the crash severity. When a first low crash severity occurs, a timer is started and the restraining device is triggered by the analyzing unit only when a higher crash severity is reached during the running time of the timer.

  • Patent number: 6339962
Abstract: A force sensor has an elastically deformable carrier (10; 110) which absorbs the force to be measured and on which there are a first and a second strain measurement element (21, 31; 121, 131) arranged such that the elastic deformation of the carrier (10; 110) which is caused by the force leads to different elongations in the two strain measurement elements (21, 31; 121, 131). This difference in elongations is used as a measure for the force to be measured. The force sensor as claimed in the invention is largely immune to disruptive ambient influences such as temperature changes, electromagnetic interference, tensile, compressive and/or shearing forces in the lengthwise direction of the tube, shearing forces transversely to the lengthwise direction of the tube, etc. Wheel load scales with several force sensors as claimed in the invention have such a short response time that it enables measurement of the wheel loads of moving vehicles.
