  • Patent number: 11764539
Abstract: A transmitting device, containing an emitting device (1) and a scanning mirror (2), which is deflectable about its center (MP) and is arranged in a housing (3) with a transparent cover element (4). The cover element (4) is formed, at least in a coupling-out region (4.2), by a section of a monocentric hemispherical shell (HK) with a center of curvature (K) and is arranged to cover the scanning mirror (2) in such a way that the center of curvature (K) of the hemispherical shell (HK) and the center (MP) of the scanning mirror (2) coincide.

  • Patent number: 11522335
Abstract: A transmitting device, preferably containing at least two laser diodes and a scanning mirror, which is deflectable about its center (MP) and is arranged in a housing with a transparent cover element. The cover element is formed, at least in a coupling-out region, by a section of a monocentric hemispherical shell (HK) with a center of curvature (K) and is arranged to cover the scanning mirror in such a way that the center of curvature (K) of the hemispherical shell (HK) and the center (MP) of the scanning mirror coincide, and is formed in a coupling-in region by an optical block, comprising a toroidal entrance surface, in the special form of a cylindrical surface, at least one toroidal exit surface and at least two first mirror surfaces arranged between them, for deflecting and pre-collimating the laser beams.

  • Publication number: 20120189321
Abstract: A method of generating a signal in an optical transmitter comprising a directly modulated laser and an amplitude modulator for modulating the output of the laser. The method comprises the steps of applying a first modulation signal representing data to be transmitted to the current of the laser such that the output frequency of the laser is modulated, and applying a second modulation signal representing the data to be transmitted to the amplitude modulator such that the amplitude of the laser output is modulated.

  • Patent number: 8115610
Abstract: A tire control system for a vehicle is provided includes an RFID tag mounted to the tire and having a unique tire serial number stored within tag memory accessible to an external reader; a pass-through portal operatively entered and exited by the vehicle; one or more tire-directed antenna positioned within the portal for operatively receiving one or more one data transmissions of the unique tire serial number from the tire-based RFID tag; and one or more tire-directed RFID reader coupled to the tire-directed antennas for operably reading and storing within a tire-based database the unique tire serial number data. A vehicle-based RFID tag is mounted to the vehicle having a unique vehicle serial number stored within tag memory and transmitted to an external reader as the vehicle moves through the portal.

  • Patent number: 6088152
Abstract: An optical amplifier is adapted to cancel the Raman gain of an optical transmission path that degrades those optical signals occupying the low end of the bandwidth such that the power is transferred from the latter signals to the optical signals occupying the high end of the bandwidth. More specifically, the optical amplifier adjusts the gain that it applies to the optical signals so that it favors the signal components at the low end of the bandwidth.
