  • Publication number: 20080116231
Abstract: A pressurized dispensing container for dispensing fluid products contains a valve stem which engages a resilient annular restoring boot to assure that the valve is returned to its closed state once manual force is removed from the valve. A valve stem shoulder engages the upper end of the restoring boot. To avoid having the boot snap around the shoulder and thus fail to restore the valve to its closed state when required, the following design feature is employed. The upper end of the annular boot has an inwardly facing flange which engages an annular recess or groove in the valve stem which recess is at a position directly below the valve shoulder. Certain dimensional relationships are optimum to provide assurance of full engagement between the inwardly facing boot flange and stem recess.

  • Publication number: 20080041888
Abstract: An axially actuated valve primarily for use in a pressurized container having a dip tube comprises a vertical moveable valve element having a stem, button on the base of the stem and sidewall openings at the lower part of the stem. A resilient annular sealing grommet has a recess in its base into which the button fits. When the valve is closed, the button engages the ceiling of the recess to block product from reaching the sidewall openings. The button is within the recess at all times between its closed and open states. The button has upper and lower disc portions. The lower disc portion optionally has a tubular tail to engage a dip tube. The upper disc portion has edge recesses that provide communication between the stem wall openings and a zone created when the valve element is depressed. The button has a vertical passageway through the lower disc portion and a horizontal passageway between the two disc portions extending out to the edge recesses in the upper disc portion.

  • Publication number: 20080041887
Abstract: An axially actuated valve for use in a pressurized container is controlled by a user to dispense the amount of product desired. The valve stem is moved in an up and down direction so that when dispensing, the user can control the amount of the valve openings that are in communication with the material to be dispensed. A resilient sealing grommet provides an interference fit around the lower part of the valve stem from the button up to the top of the valve stem openings. This interference fit effectively closes off the uncovered portion of the valve openings thereby permitting user control of the dispensing rate. The stem has openings partially tapered in the form of an inverted truncated pyramid to further facilitate user control of the dispensing of product.

  • Publication number: 20070017097
Abstract: A razor has a hollow handle in which a pressurized dispensing container is mounted to dispense shaving cream. The valve end of the container is positioned at the lower end of the handle so that gravity feed is employed to provide shaving cream at the valve. The dispensing valve is in communication with a dispensing opening at the end of the handle. The valve is spring loaded into a normally closed state. An opening at the upper end of the handle lets the user apply a finger to the base of the dispenser to push the dispenser down. When pushed down, the valve stem abuts against a rim at the dispensing opening of the razor thereby moving the valve into its open state. Shaving cream is thus dispensed through the bore of the valve stem and the dispensing opening at the end of the handle.

  • Publication number: 20060138178
Abstract: An axially actuated valve for use in a pressurized container that is easily actuated and controlled by a user to dispense the amount of product desired. The valve stem is moved in an up and down direction so that when dispensing, the user can control the amount of the valve openings that are in communication with the material to be dispensed. A resilient grommet surrounds the valve stem and has a recessed portion in its base that receives the valve stem button when the valve is in the closed state. The grommet has a squared off interior annular lower corner. This provides a grommet surface that is flush with the valve stem. This design permits use of a minimum size button and also facilitates user metered dispensing. The stem may have openings partially tapered in the form of an inverted truncated pyramid to facilitate user control of the dispensing of product.

  • Publication number: 20060102661
Abstract: An aerosol spray system for RTV silicone coating materials employs a valve gasket fabricated from a conformable synthetic resinous material that is substantially non-absorbing of moisture, assembled with components that are also moisture-free.

  • Publication number: 20050060898
Abstract: A razor includes a handle, a flexible neck extending from the top of the handle and a blade-carrying razor head pivotally fitted on the distal end portion of the neck. A lower portion of the handle functions as an actuator for dispensing shaving material contained within the handle and is operable between a stop position and a dispensing position. The neck is structured to flex and/or twist in a yielding action in response to external forces as the blade-carrying razor head travels over irregular or varying contours of the skin surface. The flexible neck may be formed to include a scoop for directing a stream of water through the blade-carrying razor head in a fanned array, providing an enhanced flushing action to remove debris and residue which accumulates on the blades.

  • Publication number: 20050029312
Abstract: A plastic dispensing actuator for a pressurized container used to dispense product has a dispensing nozzle that is mounted on the tilt valve of the container and a lever attached to the dispensing nozzle. The lever is attached by a living hinge to the wall of the nozzle. The lever is in the normal vertically aligned state for storage and shipment. It is rotated about the hinge to a horizontal dispensing state whereby actuation of the lever by depressing it causes the nozzle and the valve to tilt thereby dispensing product.
