  • Patent number: 9080686
Abstract: The invention relates to a valve particularly for transferring small portions of glue onto folding tabs of (cigarette) packs. A closing element (15) of the valve is actuated by different elements, that is to say, is moved between the open and closed positions, on the one hand by two permanent magnets (24, 25) arranged a short distance from each other and having aligned poles such that the closing element is permanently kept in the closed position by the permanent magnets (24, 25). On the other hand, an actuating element, which is configured as an electromagnet (23), acts to move the closing element (15) into the open position in a controlled way by overcoming the closing forces. The closing element (15) is designed in a particular way, that is to say, with channels extending along the outside in the longitudinal direction for the medium or the glue.

  • Patent number: 5676105
Abstract: A piston engine which includes an engine block composed of a base material. The engine which block has a cylinder block with at least one cylinder formed therein, a piston located in the cylinder, and a crankshaft connected to the piston and being mounted on crankshaft bearings disposed in a crankcase of the engine block. The engine further includes a plurality of reinforcing components connected to the walls of the engine block. The reinforcing components are composed of a component material that is different from the base material and has a higher modulus of elasticity than the base material.

  • Patent number: 5651340
Abstract: A piston internal combustion engine includes an engine block made of a base material and including a cylinder block having walls. Segmented, rib shaped reinforcements are disposed on the engine block, each reinforcement defining breaks along a course thereof, the reinforcements further being made of a material having a higher modulus of elasticity than the base material.
