The door locking device includes a base member that has a receptacle; a closing element on a door side that is moved into the receptacle when a door of the household appliance is closed; a control unit; an electrical switch that is switched over in a closed position of the closing element and via which an information signal signaling the closed position of the closing element is transmitted to the control unit; and an interlocking device to mechanically interlock the door. The mechanical interlocking of the door is facilitated in an interlock position of the closing element and the closing element is moved from the interlock position into the closed position when the door is closed.

Abstract: A laundry care device, wherein an operating program is selectively stored in a memory unit, wherein the operating program has operating program parameters, and wherein specific operating values of the operating program parameters are assigned to the stored operating program. The laundry care device includes a user setting element to set an adjustable variable and a control unit to automatically change at least one of the operating program parameters so as to match it to the adjustable variable set by the user setting element. The adjustable variable is an end result to be achieved with the execution of a selected operating program and at least one operating value is automatically altered as a function of the end result.

Abstract: A method for controlling a program-controlled water-bearing domestic cleaning appliance, especially a washing machine, which comprises a program control device that controls a water supply and outlet device, a heater and/or a drive device. For the purpose of cleaning, the structural components that come into contact with water during proper operation of the device, the so-called self-cleaning, the program control device controls water supply, discharge, water level, the speed of the driving motor and/or the duration of the drive control within at least one program section and/or the duration of at least one program section in such a manner that all structural components to be cleaned are wetted with water or the cleaning solution. This kind of self-cleaning should especially be carried out when the domestic cleaning appliance is put into operation for the first time. The invention is further characterized in that the program control device automatically recognizes the initial putting into operation.

Abstract: The invention allows a user of a program-controlled household appliance to obtain comprehensive information concerning different working process parameters by having the appliance include a display device for acoustic signals or optical characters and a memory area of the program control device, which is configured for saving set program parameters and measurement and operational values of the actuators and sensors participating in the program that is running. For such a purpose, the display device contains a display element (field), which is activated upon completion of the working process and contains the comment “Log”, indicating the option of issuing information relating to measurement and operational values that have been saved prior to and/or during the last completed working process.
