  • Publication number: 20150070207
Abstract: A radar sensor for use within a vehicle includes self calibration functionality for performing angle calibrations for the sensor when the sensor is mounted within the vehicle. In at least one embodiment, the radar sensor collects information on stationary infrastructure around the vehicle for use in calibration operations. The infrastructure information may be used to generate a Doppler Monopulse Image (DMI) or other graph for the sensor. A clutter ridge within the DMI or other graph may then be analyzed to determine calibration data for the sensor.

  • Patent number: 8884811
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for separating transmitted signals in radar systems and an associated radar system. In the method, the signals for transmission are shared among multiple subcarriers by means of OFDM, which subcarriers are assigned to the transmitting antennas according to a distribution scheme. In this distribution scheme, each subcarrier is assigned to one transmitting antennas only. The subcarriers assigned to a given transmitting antenna are spread over the entire signal bandwidth. In this way, very high dynamics may be achieved while retaining complete orthogonality of the signal paths.

  • Publication number: 20120076190
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and also a device for digitally processing OFDM signals which are emitted by a transmission apparatus with modulation symbols as information carriers, reflected at one or a plurality of objects at least to some extent and received by a receiving apparatus. The modulation symbols are extracted without prior channel equalisation from the OFDM signals received and the extracted modulation symbols are normalised by a complex division to the respectively transmitted modulation symbol. The radar analysis for determining the distance and/or determining the speed of the objects then takes place on the basis of the normalised modulation symbols. With the method and the device, on the one hand, both distance and speed of the objects can be determined independently of one another. On the other hand, the method works very reliably, as it is not influenced by the transmitted information.

  • Patent number: 7739972
Abstract: The present invention relates to a simple and inexpensive method for producing a mattress panel or quilt having corners which deviate from an orthogonal pattern. The method renders a material having two stitched seams between two sewn products that are arranged adjacently. The two stitched seams are created by a sewing device, which moves transversely to the conveying direction of the material. The material is cut between said seams by a sewing unit, located within the sewing device. Prior to or during the stitching of the seams, another device removes a sub-area comprising both sewn products, resulting in a mattress panel or quilt with corners deviating from an orthogonal pattern.
