Abstract: A method, system and article of manufacture for determining a global hierarchy of an entity by computing subjective coherence strength between nodes of first members of a social network service, computing objective entanglement strength between nodes of second members of the social network service, using subjective coherence strength and objective entanglement strength, compute the pairwise latent relationship probabilities between different ones of the nodes of the social network service, and using the pairwise relationship probabilities, compute the global hierarchy relationship.

Abstract: An embodiment searches a social network for at least one trigger event, detects one or more trigger events, and communicates the detected one or more trigger events as an alert. Searching the social network comprises searching member profiles and searching member activities. Detected one or more trigger events are centralized into a sortable list and prioritized based on business entities and the importance of the trigger events to persons related to the business entities. The centralized sortable list is fed into a customer relations management system which presents the alerts on a user interface. A plurality of types of triggers includes people updates, company updates, product purchases, and product usage.

The search request includes search criteria. A team membership connection between the searching member profile and a team profile is then detected. Based on the detected team membership connection, profile connections between member profiles and teammates of the searching member profile are identified. The teammates are member profiles with team membership connections to the team profile. Then, matching member profiles are identified by matching the member profiles with the identified profile connection with the search criteria. The matching member profiles are then communicated to the searching member profile.
