  • Patent number: 4753311
Abstract: A hydrostatic translation slide support, comprises a housing, a slide member, a low pressure chamber and a high pressure chamber, a support ring which is elastically held against the housing and pressed with a uniform tensioning against the slide member, the support ring being movable in the housing substantial normal to the slide member, a first sealing ring fixedly held by the support ring and located between the support ring and the slide member to limit the high pressure chamber, a second double lip sealing ring arranged in the housing and surrounding the support ring so as to limit the low pressure chamber, means forming a supply passage in the housing for supplying a hydraulic medium into the high pressure chamber, and means forming a discharge passage for withdrawing the pressure medium from the low pressure chamber.

  • Patent number: 4673050
Abstract: In a crawler-type track, an endless flexible belt is stretched over a stator which includes fluid-receiving pressure-tight cells and is formed with a central fluid collecting tank connected to a revolving pump. The cells of the stator are supplied with pressure fluid via the channels or passages formed in the stator. The belt is radially spaced from the stator so that a gap, formed therebetween, is filled with pressure fluid. The belt is provided with an inner slide layer also formed with fluid-receiving cells. The fluid-containing system is enclosed in a pressure-tight circuit.

  • Patent number: 4593884
Abstract: A cable mover has a generally stationary support, a tube centered on an axis and having a pair of axially opposite ends, a swivel joint carrying the tube on the support and permitting the tube to move only nonaxially thereon, and respective axially double-acting actuators carried on the tube ends. Respective double-acting grippers are carried on the actuators. The cable axially traverses the grippers, actuators, and tube. The grippers each have two sets of wedge jaws engageable with the cable, one of the sets of each gripper being effective to wedge in one axial direction with the cable and to slide in the other direction, and the other set of each gripper being oppositely effective. Each gripper also has a disabling body displaceable between end positions and through a central position with the body disabling one of the respective sets of jaws in one end position, the other set of jaws in the other end position, and neither set of jaws in the central position.

  • Patent number: 4538699
Abstract: A fluid-cushion supporting arrangement for horizontal conveyance has a supporting platform, a flexible angular sealing element arranged under the platform in the region of its marginal portion and formed as a sealing piston with a horizontal leg forming together with the supporting platform a fluid chamber and a vertical leg forming together with the supporting platform a control pressure chamber, a pressure-regulating device through which the chambers communicate with one another so that the fluid from the fluid chamber can act upon the control pressure chamber in a pressure-dependent manner, and first and second sensors which are parts of the inlet and the pressure-regulating element and brought in contact with the horizontal leg and the vertical leg of the sealing piston, respectively.
